And here is our annual FA article from Bengals propaganda man, Geoff Hobson.
While I'm not interested in paying a bunch of underachievers big dollar in free agency, this is a little ridiculous. We have about 20 roster spots to fill. You can only expect real impact from 3 or 4 draft picks (if you are lucky), leaving about 16 or 17 guys that we need to fill a team. Sure, some of those guys will just be for depth - Special teams, back-up linemen, dbs, linebackers, etc. But we are still short 4-5 key guys at starting positions. And that's being generous!
This was a playoff team last year and it's a team with a somewhat favorable schedule in a division with teams dealing with financial issues and aging rosters. If ever there were a time to make a splash in FA, this would be the year.
But, as I said.... More of the same.
