High School football

This is my high school team on offense. This happened Friday night. Not near as bad as the one in Texas, but some are saying unintentional. What do u think?

A play before this the player actually did the same thing but stopped right before he got to the ref.

The play before. After this play the player told the ref that he was in his way. The ref told him that is just football and part of the game . He must go around him

When I was in school, the thought of my coach breaking his paddle on my ass or having to flip a tractor tire 300 yards deterred crap like this. Nowadays, the coaches are in on it. I know I'm getting old when I constantly catch myself muttering "young people these days"....

Is the coach & kid facing questions or is everyone moving on?

They at first suspended him then took it away- the TSSAA- the head of high school sports in TN. The head coach then suspended him for 1 game and made him write the official a letter of apology. Yesterday, the principal of the school overturned that and said the kid did nothing wrong. So the kid will be playing tomorrow night

The official however has been suspended. He talked to the media after the game and deemed it intentional and malicious. Supposedly though he is being suspended for something to do with his resume. The story has changed all week

Don't know if you can see the score board but inTN when a team is leading by 35 the clock never stops. It's called the running clock. We were ahead 49-7

always said the only thing wrong with youth sports is the adult involvement

Not knowing everything I will say from being the son/player for a Dad High School coach. It speaks volumes to me to the character of the coach when it's his son. Throw in the principle sudden support and I'd say they have playoff aspirations which is a heck of a way to guide the kids in that community. Seems to smell to me.

not pointing a finger, not when it's compared to the history of Texas HS football I'm not...just saying.

They were pretty bad. The kid though is 6'4 200 pounds. He has a chance to go to college. He was also the Qb.

If you watch the second video, the umpire really does get in his way of assisting on the tackle. Before anyone bashes me- yes that's the umpire. I know umpires are in baseball , but in this case that is an umpire

what was the score again and how much time left?
that kid should play JUCO if he wants to play the game so bad

The final was 49-7. That play though took place in the second quarter with the score 21-7. According to the official the player had told him several times that he was in his way. My guess would be the kid didn't do it on his own. From watching it, I would also assume the head coach probably didn't tell him to do it either. I have no idea though.

Some of the refs think they are bigger than the game. Especially in high school sports. While in High School the basketball coach benched me because I got a technical foul while I was resting on the bench. The moron made bad call and I let him know about it. I just did not like refs then or now.
