Heyward a Card?

Seeing as I don't know much at all about Jenkins, anyone else have any intelligent thoughts on this? I know if I owned Heyward/Waldon, there's no way I'm trading them for Shelby and a prospect..especially if that leaves me with an outfield of BJ and Justin Upton, and likely the defensively challenged Gattis.

I realize they can't really depend on Medlen or Beachy, Harang, Floyd, and Santana are free agents (one restricted 2 not), but Teheren, Wood, Minor, and whatever the next big thing from Gwinett..couldn't they find a cheaper option on the market for that last rotation spot, rather than trade their best defensive OF, and possibly third best hitter?

I think the new regime in Atlanta has started off on the wrong foot.

Unfortunately it seemed like a panic move since STL was going to rely on oscar tavarez this season... But with that said, Heyward is a perfect fit in STL as he is a good OBP guy... I can see Heyward being a near elite OF for a long time for STL...

good point, my point was calling him up so young and not sending him back down, only us Royals can ruin players by calling them up too soon.

Might not be a bad comparison with Francouer.

Don't forget though, Heyward may be the premier defensive LF in all of baseball. Alex Gordon comparisons might be more appropriate.

I think this is a strong win for the Cards, because Miller just is not very good.
