Seriously. The guy is a top 5 QB in almost every statistical measure that QBs are evaluated on. And this is over the last 2 seasons. And for those of you that say he is a system QB, I say, so what? He is in the system on this team. This is the system we run. We need a QB just like him. He is accurate (5th in the league), throws deep (top 5 yds/attempt), does not throw ints anymore (top 5 in INTs/att), does not take sacks (top 5 in sacks/att), does not get injured, and makes very quick decisions.
I think it is possible that it doesn't get done. I say that based on McCloughan saying in the past he doesn't want to wrap up all his money in one player. I hope he feels that he put Cousins on a prove it deal and he has shown proof. Look at all the $20 million QBs Kirk has as good or better than stats.
I would like to see him signed for 5 years and I would like to see Gruden back.
That is very possible, it is also possible that SM, using the Seattle model believes that building a championship level team doesn't require an elite level QB.
Not sure what Russell Wilson has to do with this but anyone watching that game the other night should understand that he is in fact close to elite. I had guests so it was in the background but I did catch him bringing them down with 5 minutes to cut it to 6, then getting the ball back with 2 minutes needing a TD. I knew what would happen, he nearly always brings his team into the end zone at the end of the game.
