No, his actual career of one all-star and one finals appearance was not HOF-worthy. He was a 6’3” undersized shooting guard that was out of place for his time.

I think he would stand out less today. Because his skill set wouldn’t be unique at all.

He would be less undersized today. But there are lot of Hersey Hawkins type players out there today.

Isn’t Hersey Hawkins already in the basketball Hall of Fame because of his collegiate career? I think he may be a gold medalist as well playing for Team USA. He is like top 10 all time scoring in college basketball.

In today's NBA tweeners like Bones Hyland have value. He's an example of a guy that would have been utterly useless in the 90's. Hawkins is a considerably better player than Hyland.
