I'll admit it Heat, I "did not get the memo" on the ridiculous base fare surcharge for a single ride card. As far as I knew the base fare was 2.50 because that's all it ever says when I swipe at the turnstile. Touche.

Can't imagine that anyone who works in Manhattan would prefer to only buy single rides on occasion, when you can buy a 10$ card and save a buck right there. They last; go ahead and fork out a ten spot, and keep the card in your wallet next to your Magnums. That extry quarter adds up. Plus, they give you bonus money for buying larger amounts.

it's cool at least you admit it. but like i said i very rarely almost never use metro cards anymore because i live in jersey now. i either drive in or take the jitney buses into port authority.. i get your premise to buy a ten dollar card and keep it with me but trust me when i tell you that card would expire before the time i spent the ten bucks. that's why i get the one fare on occasion
