I really like the breakdown and thoughts here. Don't have a problem with critical analysis. Got to ask the hard questions.

Tevin was the biggest question mark for me as a pick. Of course he is a 6th rounder as well. Havent seen anything yet on what he brings to STs if anything. And he was knocked out for a month with concussion in 2012 and almost benched in 2013... He does look like a hard hitter. I need to do some more research on this guy.

Hoping there is something more than what I'm seeing and reading about him.

here is my problem with monday morning qb articles like this. how does the reporter know who will make a impact better then the player that just got draft. 2. how come the media is not attacking the raiders for not taking de williams but when the skins passed him medis was in shock raiders need de more then the skins.3 it is not fair to even question what any team does in rounds 4-7 i seen a chart espn showed and it said u only have 30 percent chance of making a team if drafted in roundss 4-7 . 4. if i was ilb on the redskins i would be scared beacause there is a beast a head hunter coming is name is spaight mr riley you job might be done canceald.

Well you might want to call me harsh to. I am still not impress with this draft. I hope I am wrong but there are some big ? Marks here and time will tell if this is a successful draft. Here’s my problem, we pass on Williams and take Scherff. I am a little confuse. Now we need help on the OL there’s no question about that but this draft is deep in regards to the OL. Then we go the second rd and draft a DE, sorry he’s not OLB. We need a edge rusher and the jury is still out when it comes to T Murphy. This is what really disappoint me about this draft. Next is Jones which is a reach. We could had him later also. Kouandjio is another reach but hey at least he addresses a need. The rest of the picks are okay with the exception of Spencer. Really love Crowder and the last pick Austin Reiter. Overall the top half of this drafts have some big doubts for me. I hope they can prove me wrong but as of right now I think we made some big mistakes early on in this draft. I just expected more.

i dont have an issue with scherff and we did pick up 3 o/lineman sure the RB could be a reach but it isnt killer

Yeah the rave reviews keep flying in. I do think it's damn good question asked in another thread about how Scott's name resulted in these reviews and if Vinny had made the picks, well...

But as I will continue to say in Scott I trust so yeah, happy with the draft.

I don't think Collins was a target for Scot myself. Not in Round 2 at least, though I really liked him as a prospect.

Again - draft grades a few days after the draft are laughable. If these media guys know so much more than the actual GMs then why don't they have those jobs? I guarantee you that the GM jobs pay much, much more especially for some of these guys who represent basically obscure web sites.

Take all of these grades with a ton of salt. The fact that SM made the picks & the manner in which they conducted the draft should make us all feel a lot better (call me a lemming if you like - don't care). Suggesting that the O line talent after Scherff was close just doesn't sound correct given everything that you see & hear - time will tell.

Check back in a few years to see if any of these guys are correct - doubt it in many cases.

First of all - no way Vinny makes that first round pick - the selection is just not sexy enough. Secondly - partially basing the opinion based on SM's name is justified. Reputation means a lot even though it is no guarantee. Kind of like if I were to ask an opinion on how to build an offense or develop a QB - whose opinion would you value more Belichick or Jim Zorn?

i think he made a real good stab at making us better . some will hit some will miss but it will take time for us to be a truly quality football team

Agree. One good thing in that area is acquiring so many picks. The more the better since highly likely that several will make a solid impact. When you consider how few picks have made an impact with the Redskins over the recent past this has to encourage everyone.

Aren't in-the-box safeties really becoming a dime-a-dozen guys? The key now is to get a pass covering safety. Those are rare and they're a vital cog in any 3-4 defense. Collins might've been more a luxury than anything else.

I didn't see him as limited to that myself.

He's not as handicapped in coverage as others, but there's a reason why he fell. And I believe that was one reason why he did. I'd just as soon keep trying to develop Philip Thomas and see what others like Akeem Davis has to offer. According to Chris Russell (for whatever his opinion is worth), Davis has got a lot of potential as a FS.
