There have been talks that the Cowboys are considering trading Parsons. That would sure shore up our DE position. Parsons and Hendrickson? It would take a lot, but I am thinking Tee Higgins, 1st rounder this year, 2nd and 3rd rounder next year.

It would be expensive having both Parson's and Hendrickson, along with Burrow and Chase, but....we are giving up Tee's contract, and I think we can swing those other contracts. We just may be playing with a little less in other areas.

Granted, I am not really sure that the Cowboys would trade Parsons, and I am not sure what the asking price is, but I saw a crazy trade idea for Higgins earlier today that suggested the Jags would give up their 5th overall pick for Higgins to pair him with Lawrence, Etienne, and Higgins. Saying that if this occured, the Bengals would focus that pick on Higgin's replacement with McMillan.

That is why I think Higgins, a 1st a 2nd and a 3rd could be enough for Parsons. That would give the Cowboys a dangerous duo in Lamb and Higgins., it would also give them #12 and #17 in the draft this year, and an extra 2nd and 3rd next year. Our window is right now, so let's make a move that can put us over the top.

Plus, Parson's spent the end of the season singing Burrow's praises and insisting he was the MVP of the league, that there was no more value player to his team than Burrow.
I can't imagine the Cowboys would have any interest in paying Tee when they already gave Lamb a huge deal. I mean, isn't that the same logic people are using to say the Bengals shouldn't sign Tee? But more to the point, Jerry has been acting quite odd lately with that franchise. They've cut some big deals with some star players but have gone very cheap on other parts of the roster. There are a lot of whispers that Jerry really doesn't care so much about winning anymore as much as he does turning profit which is easy to do with the Cowboys name.

he's getting 25 million on a franchise tag. he will sit out several weeks demanding a trade, then he'll come back and play for a few weeks. He will get injured and miss several weeks. hopefully, he will return in time for the playoffs. but the roster shenanigans to come for Hendrickson, Chase, and any other potential free agents we could possibly sway may cost us a place in the playoffs, and it will most certainly keep us from getting any kind of home field advantage. We may have multiple hold outs during week 1 of the season.

I don't think Higgins sees a single second of game time under the tag. He will either be re-signed, or traded. I don't see an in between with this scenario.

I think he gets into week 3 or whatever of the season and says, "OMG, they can't trade me and they haven't signed me, it's the same shit all over again." and he decides to play.

ZT reiterates some of what Duke said about Big 3. It’s good to have great players that want to be rewarded. We want to make Ja’Marr the highest paid non-QB in the NFL. We want Tee here for a long time. That’s a trio we want here together.

Both doing a bit of what Burrow has been doing - letting it be known they want their guys signed, and they deserve to be paid.

Duke also mentioned getting more aligned on defense - said alignment like 15 times. Makes you really think that Lou wasn't exactly getting the draft guys aligned with the defense - and I think that shows. There was a clear preference with aging players who weren't as good as they were getting time over younger guys who needed live reps.

my prediction.

Chase (and Burrow). Bengals will make a historic offer to Chase. They will think they did good. they will make a big show of their generosity and how they have broken out of the poverty franchise mold, blah blah blah. But, Chase will turn it down because it won't be the deal he said he wanted. the Bengals will not counter. They will have no answer to Chases demands. next year, the Franchise tag will be used on Chase, not Higgins. Chase will eventually leave the team. Now, Burrow is under contract until 2029; however, The Burrow/Bengals relationship will take a bad turn from that point on, after losing Chase. whether it is a repeat of the Carson Palmer story remains to be seen, but it is clearly possible.

Higgins. franchise tag to carry him through the year. he may decide to sit out. which will be unfortunate. I see him maybe playing for Washington, catching balls from Jayden Daniels. or some other similar situation. The Bengals will get some trade offers for him, but they will all be "we see how desperate you are, so we are low balling you." type offers. the Bengals will turn down the offers saying that Higgins is worth more than that. eventually, he will hit free agency and sign with the highest bidder, after healing his wounds on the bengals payroll.

Hendrichson. The Bengals will make him a good offer. he will counter. it will not get resolved until the end of the season though. He will regret it next year after he realizes his mistake. he may demand a trade. or he'll get injured and wait.

Hopefully, I'm wrong. that would be awesome.

If Chase is offered the highest non-QB contract in the NFL - he will sign. He wanted to be the highest paid WR/non QB and if he gets that offer...he's getting exactly what he wants. He'll sign.

I'll continue to say - Higgins will not play a single snap for the Bengals under the tag. They will either get a deal in place, or he will be traded, but he will not play 1 snap for the Bengals under the tag. Rumors of teams like NE no longer being interested in trading brings to the front what some have been saying for awhile. Higgins is likely to get over-paid on the open market/trade. He's an elite #2 WR, but he's a Solid #1 - not elite or even top 10-15, IMO. Is that a WR you want to sign to $30-$33MM? Especially on a guy that has played <70% of potential snaps over his career due to injury? Regardless, though - he will not play under the Tag.

I don't know who Hendrichson is...but Trey is on the last year of his deal. He can hold out if he wants, but at 30 - do you want to sit a year and try for a contract at 31 after missing a year? Not sure. He may sit out for awhile, but I think ultimately - he'll play. Not sure if I see the Bengals actually trading him, but if they do - Garrett is said to be staying in Cleveland...Trey could provide another solid return.

I'll continue on my path: The Bengals will get at least 2 of the 3 signed. The onus here is 100% all on the Bengals ownership to get it done. Burrow has beaten the drum. Duke beat that drum the other day at the combine. Taylor has also beat that drum. They're all mimicking Burrow - it needs to get done. Everyone is pointing their finger at ownership - and I think they will realize that they have to get at least 2 of these guys signed.

I think Chase will get signed, but I suspect it will take longer than our fans wish - I'm hoping it doesn't last into camp, but I have a sneaking suspicion it will. Nothing easy with this franchise. Duke's words about Chase mean nothing - He said he will be the highest non-qb in the league and that was already going to be true because that currently belongs to JJ and Chase was already set to make more even before last year.

I think Hendrickson will be gone. Or will be a hold out and not play. I don't believe the Bengals will give him a fair market contract and I don't think he'll stay on a massive discount. I just wish they'd do it before the draft, but don't think they will.

With Tee I am confused. I think they can easily sign him to a 3 year deal and the agent wouldn't even make them guarantee much more than the first year with a huge bonus. Bengals could pay that with cash from this year's shared revenue. But, I think the Bengals will want to give hm something in the high 20s and Tee's group is going to want over 30. Just not sure where it ends.
