There are about 18-20 people in the league that I joined. It's for real cash too so help me out!
I am 3rd to pick in the draft which is tonight.

Who are the top prospects that I can most likely get with that draft position?

I'm thinking depending on who the other 2 infront of my take obviously Stamkos, Malkin, Crosby or Giroux.

I really wanted Karlsson. I've always done fantasy football but not really hockey so help! I have trouble picking whos actually gonna get points and not just based on who I love.

If there are 18-20 people, goalies will go very fast. You may not want one 3rd overall, but I would look at grabbing one in the second or third round.

Depending on how the draft order goes, like i'm not sure if when it gets to the bottom it reverses up or if it is on a loop and goes from 20 back to first.

So I was thinking Scoring player first, Defence second (only if Karlsson, Weber, Keith are available still) and Goalie third.

i was just in a draft with that many and goalies got picked quick. after picking 4th (malkin) I got Rask from Boston. I if you are third and have the option of one of those four I would think

Malkin
Stamkos
Giroux
Crosby

in that order.

In a shortened season, I look for guys who've played in the Ahl in the past few months, or overseas I guess. Then I look for under the radar guys who get powerplay time. I then look at rookies and or second year players with good value who I think may make a big spash in the first couple of weeks. The reason I do this is I know there are going to be other owners out there who have a high draft pick who started slow. It's just setting yourself up for a better shot at selling high and buying low. Then I look for truculence, beligerence, and possibly a franchise netminder if the price is right. Then I order my ringz.

I know. I was joking, sorry.

With the 3rd pick you really can't lose if you take Malkin, Stamkos, Crosby, Giroux or Tavares.

Yesterday the Isles had their scrimmage & from what I understand his skating has improved from last season. Which is saying a lot.

i haven't done fantasy hockey in a while, but if it's like it used to be, drafting a dman that high probably isn't a good idea.. it's weighted towards goals, assists, points, +/-, pp points, pp goals, shorthanded goals, PIMs, maybe you have blocked shots in there or ice time.. and then the goalie stats.. the only ones a dman is better than a forward for are blocks, ice time, and maybe +/-.. doesn't seem like a good use of your 2nd pick to me.. maybe if it's karlsson who could put up 70 points or something, because then you basically have a forward that doesn't take up a forward spot, but..

i would go forward if it's one of the top 5 or so, if not go goalie.. goalies normally carry a lot of weight in fantasy hockey

Can you guys just put a little ranking on each position for players you would want?
That will help :)
