But will Jim Buss swallow his pride? I would love to see this happen....and I'm still laughing at Phil playing his zen mind games on twitter.

That is the question.

We know Howard wants Phil, Kobe does, and Pau too. Now Phil as well.

All that's holding this thing up is Jimmy and his boy Mike.

What's up guys? Just having a little fun. Good to be back to talk some basketball with you, have a little fun and spread a little humor along the way.

Kind of hoping we hire Alvin Gentry as an assistant coach. like him as a defensive guy. Like Nate McMillan too, but I'm pretty sure he's gonna end up as a head coach somewhere. Too be honest.... if neither of those guys get HC jobs.. we should hire both of them

a lot of spammers start off with posts similar to your first post and we were waiting for the link to the cheap authentic jerseys you were going to try and sell us ...

welcome aboard

Yes, welcome.

Bummer that you're NOT from Eastern Europe. Yorgi, one of my multiple personalities, was looking forward to having someone to talk to. :pout:

You say that "WE all know it." Speak for yourself. Also, we don't know that any of those people want a 67 year old coach like Phil who retired years ago.

All that's holding this thing up is Jimmy and his boy Mike.

Yes, son. The owner and the coach do to tend to run teams. And in this case, G.M. Mitch Kupchak, whom you left out.

Thanks for keeping us "dialed in."

dpwtv. I like the sports. I fan of Lakers. I come here to talk basketball with you good people. I never post on message board before. Please be nice.

Lakers season make me cry. All good things i expect happen. Good things no happen. Many purple gold people get boo boos. Too many coaches.... Kobe get hurt and make playoff round no way to win.

I read Don Tony fire all his helping coaches. I very much excited to see what other male humans he brings to team to help them to next level.

I'm looking forward to talking to all you strangers about the sport of basketball.

Go Lakers. Beat those Astros in basketball.

UNLV alum? How in the world did you get to be an alum? What a school that must be. :lame:

Oh by the way dpw, Thumper has man crushes on D'Antoni, Junior Buss and the Mitch Man. I say if Howard wants Phil, Kobe wants Phil, Pau wants Phil and Jennie is stooping Phil, he should come back to courtside. None of those people like DA, none think Junior is his daddy and Mitch man his stooping Junior. Oh Hammer can I say that?

My opinion is this. Whatever it takes to get another championship, I'm for. If it means keeping MD, firing MD, signing D12, letting D12 walk.... don't care.... as long as the end result is a title, I'll support it.

As most of you from cbs know... I've never claimed an infiinte knowledge about basketball. I know what I know... and it isn't that much. I'm an unabashed and unashamed Laker homer. I believe they'll win the Championship every single year until they're officially eliminated and then I'll believe they'll win again.

I do know this. I've met a lot of people with great knowledge about basketball... but none of them know as much about basketball as they think they know about basketball. That's why talking to these people are so much fun.

Excited for the offseason and retaking over the commissionership of the Prediction Contest. You guys did a great job in the playoffs

We tried and need you dearly....

I had know good idea of the rules and just expected everyone to play them as I knew them. Sman won by a freaking point! But he cheated picking the Spurs to win a couple of games LOL. You know I would never do that shit. One of the things that's cool about this place DP is we can now have the dirty diaper post up the dirty diaper avatar as well as the Crown avatar. (And we did too!) We should put a rule in place that says if you fail to put up the dirty diaper avatar and continue to post without it then you are out of the competition.

By the way, have you heard from the commissioner? I saw on SEEBS that he said he had joined over here but I haven't been able to locate him. Also a few others are still missing who I never saw at TSHQ, like metsflunky, KSU Dodgers and others....

Any ideas on their whereabouts?

Dear Thumper,

I'm going to explain why I said Howard, Kobe, and Pau all want Phil to coach the Lakers.

Howard:

(1) Because Howard and Phil were "texting buddies" all season.

Phil Jackson Sends His Support to Dwight Howard -USA Today

(2) Because Howard's girlfriend tweeted just two weeks ago that she "Officially can't stand D'Antoni" and then when someone asked via twitter whether she could do a better job coaching the team she replied, "noooo lol Phil can tho."

Lakers Nation

Do you think Howard and D'Antoni were texting buddies this season? Do you think Howard's girlfriend likes Phil and hates D'Antoni while Howard doesn't?

Kobe:

Aside from the fact that Kobe repeatedly referenced "zen" ten different ways after the Lakers toughest losses this season and that he repeatedly used the hashtag "#zen" as the losses mounted this season, during the playoffs he tweeted to Phil:

To which, the guys at Silver Screen and Roll aptly said:

Such a harmless, friendly, sympathetic statement. His teammates struggled and lost, and Kobe wanted to be there with them, even though he can't. And that harmless, friendly, sympathetic statement just had to be sent, in front of the whole world, to the one guy who makes this whole situation more explosive than napalm. . . .

Bringing Phil Jackson into the mix makes me think Kobe knew exactly what he was doing, because Kobe isn't stupid. Kobe knows how many Lakers fans think the wrong coach is in the Lakers locker room right now. He was there for Shaq's retirement ceremony, heard the chants just as clearly as D'Antoni did. To reach out to Phil to commiserate about his misery at watching the Lakers lose after sending out multiple tweets that could be seen as critical of the coaching? That is some professional instigating right there.

Lakers Cannot Escape Their Own Stupidity

Pau:

If you didn't know by now that Pau Gasol does not want to have any part of Mike D'Antoni's offense, even any revamped form of it, here's what Pau said earlier in the season:

"If this coach stays and Dwight Howard remains with the Lakers," [T.J. Simers] asked, "what about you?"

"It would be hard for me to deal with another season knowing the facts you just mentioned," said Gasol, 32 and with one year remaining on his contract.

"So do you ask for a fresh start elsewhere?"

"It's a possibility," he said, "yes."

Not Seeing Eye to Eye

And here's what Pau said immediately after the season ended:

"I want to be in a situation where I'm utilized properly and I can maximize my talents," Gasol said. "I would love for that place to continue to be here, but it can't be like this year – or it can't be because now there are a couple injured players that we're doing that. That's something that will be discussed in the offseason."

See "Lakers Nation" link above.

There, now you have no excuse for running your mouth in here about stupid shit that only makes it look like you're either trolling, not paying attention at all, or just not listening to people that are more informed than you.

Love,

BRS

Dear BRS;

So what?

Lot's of people have texting buddies. It does not follow that everybody wants his texting buddy to be his coach.

They could just be... texting buddies. Kind of common for players to keep in touch with RETIRED coaches.
