vegas makes the same amount of money no matter what. they take about 10% of the action. that's why there is a line.. they get about the same amount of money on both sides and they keep 10%.
Wait...what?

Seriously, though, its going to bother me that this will be replayed for the next decade by ESPN as an iconic play with them ignoring the fact that Lebron clearly traveled.

The lines are never balanced.

Casual bettors don't care about line movements.

No amount of line movements can get the casual bettor off the superstar favorites.

That is a myth.

It never works in theory. Because, people are drunk and casually bet teams like the HEAT no matter how big the point spread.

Vegas MADE A FREAKING FORTUNE TONIGHT.

They definitely have rooting sides.

Ok. Thanks. I thought everything I knew about gambling was wrong for a second there. Miami is the type of team that will always get action.

BS. casual bettors do care about lines. The Heat get action. but a lot of people want to see Miami lose and bet against them. that's why line moves. if to much money comes on one side, vegas moves lines to get more money on the other side of the bet. Vegas makes a fortune every night. But the outcome of a game doesn't effect the amount Vegas makes by a whole lot.. There will never be exactly the same on each side, but Vegas will balance it as close as possible.

You really think Vegas was going to lose money if Miami blew them out tonight? Get real. Those huge casinos weren't built because Vegas odds were ever against the house.

I can't remember what poster said it but it was something like "If the heat are -5 in rebounds they should win''. Fucking nailed it on the dot.

Indiana - 43 total rebounds
Miami - 38 total rebounds

They could not tackle him.

Any contact was sending LBJ to shoot 2.

The Pacers dug their own grave there with poor defensive assignments and personnel.

Once was excusable.

But, twice was stupidity.

If they lose the series, they can point to that moment of mental fatigue by Vogel.

I'd rather have LeBron shoot Fts than a wide open lane for the easy layup.

James' drives are worth 1.68 points each. Thus, sending James to the line, where you'd expect 1.5 points (he's a 75 percent free throw shooter), is worth it.

BS

He takes 3 total steps in the entire play with one dribble, which is completely legal
It would be if the dribble came before his 2nd step

If anything, George should've wrapped him up after whatever "defense" he initially played.

Yeah but you saw the lane he had... That shot was easier than hitting two free throws

This is gonna be a tough series as expected but Vogel may rue the day that he feared a Chris Bosh jumpshot over one of the best attackers of the rim in nba history
