According to Winderman if the Heat Waive Udrih and someone snags him... the Heat could then sign two minimum guys and stay under the line.

I have to disagree. The Cavs still haven't proven they're head & shoulders better than the other contending teams in the East so IMO it wouldn't take much to eliminate them - especially when we consider 2/3 of that big 3 is injury prone.Maybe I'm not giving JJ or the rest of the Heat enough credit... but without Bosh I struggle to see the Heat as a legitimate challenge to the Cavs.
Is Bosh in the playoffs still a possibility? If so... then I'd definitely give them a punchers chance.
Likely that the Heat will waive someone today in order to stay under the tax line (the one they just finally got under).
yah the Heat can give him back his full salary---- both them and Atlanta could have. Then can the Heat pay more than the veteran's minimum ? (I'm guessing $$ -- and playing time -- is part of JJ's decision.)
yah im surprised---- all though i ripped some of the moves- i do see that slipping in under the tax one year to get out of the repeater really has its value---That's what I was thinking... They just made moves to not pay that monster repeater tax.
good post.So to stay under the tax, the Heat either have to...
1) wait until March 15th to sign JJ
2) Waive someone.. AND have another team pickup that someone on waivers (new team takes over the contract instead of Heat buying out)
if they are signing Joe Johnson dont you think thats the case?I really hope Bosh can get some good fortune and be healthy for playoffs.
Would be fun to see what these guys got in em.
if they are signing Joe Johnson dont you think thats the case?
Maybe they just want to get out of the first round.
you can probably even put him at power forward and go small at times....Joe Johnson is 37% from 3. That will help.
They were going to get out of the first round anyway. The way they play basketball is actually built for the playoffs.
Without Bosh -- I'm not sure they beat Hawks or Bulls ... or maybe even the Pacers.

they definitely have plenty of a role for him in Miami- biggest role, most money....i kinda thought the guy wanted to win a title though....apparently not!
So now the Heat are going to sign Joe Johnson.
How much help does D-Wade need?![]()
