I heard that Phoenix needs a top line center and has a disgruntled pivot looking for a trade...

That actually could have some legs. Turris, salary dump and a 1st for Carter.

Carter's agent apparently now saying that they HAVEN'T asked for a trade.

I can see why he would. You sign a massive long term contract to play in a big market town with a hugely popular team, and you get traded to a team going through one of the ugliest stretches in recent NHL history, in a market that's really a college football town.

By the time Carter's contract is done, lots of things could happen. There are lots of nice pieces in C-Bus, a GM with a brain might actually be able to make that team competitive.

Everytime I see Doug MacLean on Sportsnet up here, and he starts ranting about all the challenges in C-Bus, I get all stabby.

You're the one who got the Jackets in this heap of trouble, you ninny.

I don't really watch enough football, but apparently Matt Millen (former Lions GM) does some analysis or something during NFL games. People get so freaking PISSED, you would think Nickleback is coming to town.

La la laaa....

Whatever.

If he did, so what? Johansen has proven he is ready, and there are three other Centers on the roster. If he doesn't want to be here, goodbye. It would be a terrible mistake, he could be a statistical monster for years to come. But I have no time for guys who don't want it. Especially when some guys on the team really do.

Send him somewhere for a goalie and Mean As Fuck d-man.

Heard recently that Russell was overheard early on discussing when he'd be a Free Agent so he could finally do something with his career. That coupled with Umberger's comments that players are pissed and everyone knows who isn't lead me to believe that as much as I liked Russell, maybe it was the right thing to do. And to do it quickly, quietly, and get a guy who has been good in return... Props to Howson.

That has always been my sentiment. Good luck getting market value for the bitch though with his contract.

His agent apparently says it isn't true. Rumours just tend to follow teams that are 3-13-2. Meh.

For those asking about reports of Jeff Carter requesting trade out of CBJ, here's my understanding: There has been no formal request BUT... Carter was devastated/miserable at being traded out of PHI and I don't imagine CBJ's poor start and his injury have improved mindset.
My take: Carter needs to play and play well. CBJ, same thing. Then take stock of where they're at further down the road. But that's just me.

Ain't that the truth. I haven't heard anything about him disliking it here. I think he's still butthurt over the way Philly dismissed him, and he hasn't looked terribly aggressive on the ice. But the line will click. I think he'll get it. But if he does want out, let him go. Don't drag it out, don't make it a side show, just let him go. Market value, schmarket value. The team I saw on the ice tonight is a good one. Nowhere to go here but up. Get on the train or get out of the way.

Put on your big boy pants, Jeffie. And see where this ride goes. I think you'll like it this time next year. A whole lot.

Funny, I just read Scrubs on skates again before handing it to my son. Maybe I should get a copy to Jeff. Or should I say Pete Gordon?

WAAAAHHHHHH! If he really is truly unhappy, he can only look in the mirror. Philly gave you a chance on a silver platter, and YOU SHIT THE BED, you big baby.
