Hate to say it but I think we will miss the guys we lost more than I thought.

Brandon Browner and Walter Thurmond in the secondary. Some of those CBs in the preseason have played embarrassingly bad. It's a scary thought to think if one of our CBs goes down now. 4 WR sets against Aaron Rodgers is a scarier thought now than it would be a year ago for sure.

Our run defense is missing Red Bryant badly. Hopefully we can find somebody that can step up and take on his role.

That being said, our starting offense has looked nothing short of amazing. Wilson has looked phenomenal this preseason and if this is a hint of what our actual offense can look like this season, we are instant contenders to repeat.

Yeah I think people may be overstating the problem based on a largely meaningless game in which the team is playing mostly to evaluate specific players.

Our starters will be fine, our depth , well it is just not as good as it was last year but that is what happens when you win a Superbowl, people want to raid your stock

Did you feel that way after watching the second and third PS game also?

We do not yet know what our depth will look like.
Yes, we got raided but OB>Clem, hopefully Williams, Hill, McDaniel > Red, Percy>Tate.
We very well might be as good as or better than last year's team.

Rule change is affecting DB play.... Also it's the pre-season so don't look into it that much... Starters are never gonna play with the same intensity during the pre-season... Players looking for jobs are the only ones really pushing it out there.... Also Browner ? He wasn't even playing for us during our Super Bowl run...

You do know that Jeremy Lane and Tharold Simon didn't play yesterday right. Those are the guys replacing Browner and Thurmond not Adams and Auguste.

Yeah, it sucks to lose depth and we'll give up more points but the offense looks like it's gained more than the defense lost. The offense looks like it could be a scoring machine this season and based on the play calling it seems like PC/Bevell want to score as fast and as often as possible. Should be a very exciting year.

Simona and Lane are good players. They still have more depth than any other team back there.

Yeah both those guys should be good. The biggest worry may be the past rush, but I think it will be just fine.

The pass rush will be fine. They're so dynamic and rotate so much it doesn't come through at all in the preseason. Once they're rolling out 8-9 linemen and have guys moving all over the place they'll be deadly again. Especially once the young guy establish their roles.

I don't think you will ever see as much talent at the cornerback position that Seattle rolled out going into training camp last year.
I mean Sherman, Browner, Thurmond, Lane, Maxie, Winfield(cut), Simon, Blackmon (cut), Parker (cut).

Can't base anything off preaseason. You're not rotating players, all players (starters) know they're only in for a series or two, changes the mental aspect of the game to a high degree, you're instructed by the coaching staff that this is an exhibition and to not go into dangerous situations risking injury, you're experimenting if you're a seasoned vet/all pro, etc.

If anyone thinks because of Carr's performance against Seattle that he's going to do anything relevant in the regular season, put down the bong pipe.

Wilson had a shot to do something in his rookie season because the rest of the team (especially D) was already pretty good. They nearly made the playoffs with a QB playing with a torn pec in his throwing arm.

Well in the first game you will find the Packers will be pretty much be going no huddle most of the game at a fast pace and this does not allow for substitutions if there is no huddle so it can cause an effect of tiring out the linemen with substitutions not being able to be made.

Youre assuming theyre just going to complete all their passes and march down the field. This aint Detroit.

We have faced no huddles before and have feasted. GB will need more than that to win this game.

As much as I would love that to be the case as a Niners fan, this reeks of pant-shittery moreso then anything else. You are worried because your vanilla defense is being carved up? Really? It's not like what the Hawks, or anyone in the NFL for that matter, are running in this preseason is complex.

There's also the fact that in the games where the #1 defense got a lot of snaps, the D looked great. This was just a case of a vanilla scheme combined with using 3rd and 4th stringers for a good chunk of the game resulting in a lot of points. The Raiders might end up better than anyone thinks they will be this year, but they still aren't that good.
