Good call slink. That's probably just as weirdI think what it really shows is the relative weakness of the other two NL divisions. The East is a complete joke. There's a real possibility that the three worst records in MLB come out of that division. I wonder if that's ever happened.

I'm with you. Mets are 11-24 vs playoff teams including a shocking 2-18 vs Pitt, Cubs and STL. 0-13 vs Pitt and Chicago... lol. 0-13 .I think it really calls into question how good that mets team is, or isn't, to be more accurate. I took an in depth look at their schedule to date a few weeks ago and if I remember correctly, something like 60+% of their games had been against teams with the five worst records in baseball and I know they've played nothing but shit teams since until today.
I definitely feel they're the weakest team with a playoff spot at this point. Of course, that doesn't mean shit once the calendar turns to October. Then a team just needs to get hot and be the first to win eleven or twelve games. The Giants proved that at least once over the last five seasons.

Yep. Although I will admit, I think 0-13 is an anomaly. But imagine if you replaced 54 of the mets games against MIA, PHI and ATL with 54 games against CHC, PIT and STL. I don't think their record would be much -- if any -- better than the Reds.
Honestly, I think the mets are a .500 team in any other division in the majors.
It's probably worth noting that the Mets were a considerably different team earlier in the season, especially now that they have d'Arnaud/Conforto/Wright/Cespedes in their lineup. Mets have been mashing since the ASB. The Mets had a team OPS of .660 in the 1st half. It's .790 in the 2nd half. And they're averaging over 5 runs a game.
Eh... since the break the Mets are 4-8 vs playoff teams and 33-14 vs everyone else. 21 of their 59 games since the break have come vs Philadelphia, Atlanta, Colorado, Sand Diego who are all in the bottom 5 in the NL for pitching. Add in 5 vs Boston and Baltimore ( bottom 5 in the AL ) and 9 games vs Miami who is just insdie the top 10 in the NL and you see how the Mets hitting has come around. In their 12 games vs playoff teams since the break the Mets are averaging 3.2 runs per game AND that is with a 15 run game vs the Dodgers factored in ( in the other 11 the Mets are scoring 2.1 runs per game )... Im not sold that their hitting is all that much better. They are certainly facing farrr worse pitching though
