Happy Thanksgiving

Hope you all have a great beginning to the Holiday Season.

Wife asked, "What should we make for Thanksgiving?" My reply? "Nothing. I've made reservations."

I hate five hours of preparing and cooking, 15 minutes of eating and then two more hours of cleaning up.

Big problem? No leftovers.

I'm hurting this Thanksgiving but trying to be thankful.
Over the last month, my leg has been weakening - quickly.
Had an MRI last week and reviewed it with a spine surgeon yesterday.
I am absolutely going to need surgery and very soon.
Degenerative disk disease has caused a bone spur that is destroying a nerve to my leg - it is completely squished!
I'm not sure I'll be able to walk at all by the scheduled surgery date.

I'll be cooking turkey on one leg this year......

Get one of those wheelies and walk around with your knee bent on it. Guy I know had his foot amputated just can't walk at all with a prosthetic foot. He got himself whatever they call them things and he loves it. Like a tall scooter. I'll see if I can find it online anywhere.

I brined and grilled a 20 Lb turkey.

Fantastic.
Made all the fixings as well, between the wife and kids and I. Squash, mashed potatoes, corn, green beansomething, salad, rolls...something else too.
Wife made some FANTASTIC gravy and an apple blueberry crumb pie.

Getting clearance 1st.
Being old, they must have Primary Care Physician certify that I am ok for surgery.
Must do lab work, chest xray, etc before it can be scheduled.

If I come out of general anasthesia and find out that I missed all that action, I'm going to be pissed!

I was watching the Jets/Dolphons. .02 seconds left in the first half when Salah decides to make an attempt at this.

When Boyle saw three defensive linemen and eight guys near the end zone, he should have thrown the ball to the Dolphin sideline.

A smart QB would think to himself...."If I throw an INT, the guy who catches it has fifty yards of open space, maybe two offensive linemen and me to stop him." call a f*ckin' time out and ask your coach if he thinks that it's really a good idea. You're down 10-6 because you couldn't get an extra point after a pick six. Of course, Salah being the genius he is, would have told you to do it. Thing is, people would not have been in the same places and a 103 yard pick 6 would not have happened. Well, maybe it would have.
