Personally, I hate these start times. I think 'it's great' the NHL likes to recognize the holidays, but to who's expense?

Us guys on the Left Coast benefit the most on these holidays, as the majority of these early starts are on the East Coast. Gotta get the majority of the chores done early today in order to keep the better half happy.

I think I pushed the envelope a little bit in the first few days of the season (hockey 10am - 10pm).
An hour before the home opener on Sat, the wife decided she wanted to go out for dinner that night :L
thank god for PVRs

I'm just happy the Sabres game isn't an afternoon game so that I can see it after work.

Seriously, who gets off for Columbus Day anyhow that they think they can have non-Canadian teams playing in the afternoon?

Haha, I signed up a while ago but haven't posted until today.

Hadn't checked the *ahem* the old boards in a while. Showed up there and had a PM from Bossman.

Moved recently, so no time to be hanging out on the forums.

Same to you, Dasher.

What does a Canadian Thanksgiving feast consist of?

Pretty much the same as an American one, I reckon. Turkey with all the fixings, pie (pumpkin or apple) and adult beverages.

Happy bird day! Do you guys associate today with the pilgrims as well? Or do you guys have a different spin on it?

More of just a "let's celebrate the harvest" type of thing. Usually Turkey, stuffing, roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie for desert, etc...

My Mom grew up on a saskatchewan farm, so our thanksgivings are usually pretty hearty.

There isn't any sitting around the TV watching Football though. That's one thing about American thanksgiving I never understood. And it's too close to xmas, need to spread those holidays out!

Thanksgiving is not a Religon man.

It's about family and giving thanks, not arguing whether or not Turkey Jesus died for our sins. Although it would of been tasty. :D
