Oh, that's terrible. And on a play where nothing seemed to even happen. Weird... and sad. Poor D. Hall.

Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall tore his Achilles' tendon in Sunday's Week 3 loss at Washington.

It's one of the most devastating injuries a player can have, especially for a 30-year-old corner that relies so heavily on cutting ability. Hall, who signed a four-year, $17 million contract in February, leaves the Redskins very thin in the secondary. They'll continue to be a team for offenses to attack via the air, not the ground.

Corner was an area where we didn't have a lot of competition in camp, no one really ready to roll on the practice squad. Maybe Minnifield can come back but he's hardly an NFL starter. Porter hasn't even played yet, he's hurt too.

He will go on IR, we will eat the salary. If he retires or is released next year, we make him a june 1st cut and split the remaining bonus money which we also eat.

i wouldnt write the guy off that quick

but i will point out that injuries in the wrong areas can kill us hence my 6-10 prediction . so far 2 of the 30's plus guys are on IR and hatcher pulled a hammy and all of a sudden that thud you hear is depth hitting the floor

Man I don't like D hall but I never want to see a player's career end on injury.

I wish him a full recovery and Then have Dez burn him for a 80 yard TD . :)

Kobe Bryant was coming back from an Achilles tear at age 36. Lets not retire him yet.

this hurts me wayyy more than the painful loss. hall has become such a leader on our defense. he turned into a true professional here, learning how to tackle, saying the right things, not fighting as much, helping out the young corners. thank good we signed clark because now we still have a veteran vocal leader in our secondary.

Ideally we want to see the guys who wear our colors have long and distinguished careers, ideally! Since we are far less likely to see a host of players suddenly destined for Canton, lets deal with reality a bit. That said, let me be the first to say it on this thread. D. Hall's best years were behind him prior to this season and his usefulness to the club was relegated to, as someone mentioned in an earlier post......teacher.

So why was he still playing smartass? Well the best answer is that Haslett trusted what Hall represented instead of his football instincts. Let's be real, Hall had no upside left to his game, he still bit way too much on the double move and he's fast becoming the defensive version of S. Moss. ( can get there but then what?)

I said early on that Hall would have been more effective playing against the slot but was attacked just for suggesting it. I'm not sure if it was ajoke or not but one poster saw him as the teams best corner.......WOW!!! Now his playing days are likely over or at best he's done until next year's cuts and some are acting as if the team will suffer. So let me help you out a bit..........ready?.........when Hall got hurt and Breland came in at what point did you say to yourself or out loud......Man, I sure miss D. Hall, if he was still in the game things would surely be different? Know why it didn't happen? Because like it or not Breland played as well or better........AND......he has an upside!!

The Lions picked up Bailey a couple weeks ago but I don't know if they signed him or not.
Might be our best option but there's a reason no one wants him.

they didnt sign him, lions have a terrible cb situation so im guessing champ is not serviceable anymore.
