For 9 games. He is free agent after season we won't have money to resign him.

Definitely not for a third. Maybe for a 5th. He defines injury prone, and I don't think we'd re-sign him after that year. I would like to use one of our 3rds this year to move up to the mid-first again. Though if we didn't re-sign him, we should be able to get a comp pick for him. It would be awesome to trade him for a 5th then get a 4th round comp for losing him. Doesn't seem likely, though.

Chris, what are the rules regarding something like that? Would it matter that a guy joined a team mid-season?

Part of me views this from a defensive angle as well. I don't want him to fall in the hands of the Pats, Falcons, etc.

I would like to have Nicks for 10 games. That would be fine.

I'd make a play(not a 3rd) for Nicks should Crabtree's injury really hold him back further than expected...

however... a no pull for me for such a high price ATM... wait til MM comes back and see where we go from there... then Crabtree later on hopefully but at least MM should provide some breathing room at a cheaper price.

I'm not 100% certain if that's factored into the formula or not because they keep the formula under wraps and I've never seen an example of that brought up before.

Hakeem Nicks - WR - Giants

ESPN NFC East blogger Dan Graziano writes that Hakeem Nicks "doesn't look like the player he used to be."

We've thought this since preseason. Nicks still flashes big-play ability, but more often than not he's been a relatively plodding presence outside the numbers. Graziano has noticed Nicks' inability to "get any separation at all from defenders," suggesting "it appears to be because his legs are shot" due to several past leg injuries. Nicks has become a receiver who only produces when coverage busts, or because he's simply out-muscling a defensive back. And that has happened on a very inconsistent basis this season.

Yep, still want Gordon instead.

Same here.

It seems the giants always have an up and coming WR. We took manningham cuz they were contempt with Cruz and nicks. Now they have randle making some plays and will probably slide him up and let nicks go. Might have even been more than that when Cruz was up and coming and they had Steve smith? And burress?

Its a cycle with them lol. Next randle will be up for grabs.

Ian Rapoport:

Talked trade deadline on #NFLGameDay: NYG not planning on dealing WR Hakeem Nicks. Rival execs believe a 3rd would do it if they opened up
