Great win! Nice to see Giles rebound. Also nice to see another team put men on base through walks and hit batsman. great clutch hit by Hernandez and solid hitting by Galvis. The youth are starting to come around.
Still not concerned about Ruf, he will come around with more playing time. last but not least, great pitching
by Williams!

It looks like Galvis' good spring was no fluke. He looks like he knows what he's doing at the plate. If Ruf could just get his power stroke going soon he would stand out among Brown, Sizemore, and Francoeur and stay in the lineup for longer stretches. Plus it would encourage Ryno to platoon Ruf and Howard at first if Howard really hits the skids.

Yeah retro. Logic is not useful in this case. Ruf was patient at the plate last night but still 0 for 3. In the end he's just going to have to bust out in a big way despite the adversity.

I agree. Because he is going to get no help from that idiot GM and the puppet manager is going to follow like the puppet he is, Ruf is going to have to be the guy who takes care of his career just to have one.

The Phillies will have to add a 5th starter soon so when that happens a position player will be sent to the minors.
Also when Dom party boy Brown is called up next week another position player will be sent to the minors. Amaro gets one more excuse to send Ruf down. He is probably gloating that Ruf is 0 for 10 thus far. That means Howard will get more at bats since there will be no experienced 1st baseman to back him up. Of course I am basing this on past moves that Amaro has made. However, someone from the top may tell braindead that common sense is
allowed to be used in baseball.

Tonite, old core gets a leg out of the casket to tie Nats at 2-2 in the 8th. Utley single, Howard double Ruiz single then Sizemore double. Total excitement on a Saturday nite.

Yes it is true. But McGowan the retread is about to give Washington the lead. He looks terrible.

Revere just threw out speedy Michael Taylor at the plate with a tremendous one bounce throw. Fkn amazing. Still 2-2. McGowan might get out of it.

that was amazing. I was in the other room and heard the guy was thrown out at the plate from left and I was thinking they must have left Francoeur in and put hiim in left

Great job by Herrera. Love that leg-kick. He looks like Juan Gonzalez or something

I think I'll save the highlights of this game. Might not be another one like it. I gotta see that noodle arm toss again. Revere was reasonably deep also and Taylor was easily out at the plate.
