Until I saw the race at Bristol this week is named after him and did a quick google search.

He looks so different now.

Yeah anytime you hear stage 4 of cancer it is pretty bad

His prognosis is not good. The chances of him recovering are not good either.

Saw a picture of him 2 days ago on his birthday and could barely recognize him.

Definitely a great thing he made it long enough to see all the love and support he received from the Bristol race. His last tweet is fitting

I watched the Bristol race Sunday and saw all the get well wishes for Steve Byrnes, which was very nice, but I remember thinking at the time that some of things being said sounded like things that would be said about someone that had already passed. Now I realize that the NASCAR family (officials, drivers, owners and others) must have gotten word that Mr. Byrnes was in his last few hours of life. Cancer is a cruel, wicked, cold blooded and evil disease. My condolences to Steve Byrnes family and friends. May he Rest In Peace.
