I JUST posted this in the ONGING NHL THREAD. LOL.

The Sabres assigned Mikhail Grigorenko to the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL today.

The kid was a bit overwhelmed. THe Q is probably the best place for him right now. He'll be back, and improved, next year. Played enough to burn one year off of his entry-level deal though. Poor asset management by the Sabres. :tsk:

The worst part about the whole thing is the fact he was sent down to make room for Ville Leino. :gaah:

Also wonder what that locker room is like right now. Maybe they thought it best to remove him because he may be the only one there five years from now. Don't ruin the kid.

Miller seems like kind of a cancer these days. I think he's just tired of losing but he seems to be a little too negative.

Can't say I blame Miller. He's not getting any younger and the team has been on a steady decline for the past few years. I think it's more his competitivness showing than him being a prima donna.

I think so too, but that kind of negativity is contagious.

As much as I dislike Patrick Roy and the Quebec Remparts, I'd rather see them win the Halifax Mooseheads, so I don't mind this. Will he still be eligible for the Calder next year?

I'm pretty sure Regier is just testing the team management now. Trying to figure out how many stupid things he can do this season before they finally fire him.

I've said this prior to the Ruff firing that Regier will be gone after the final game of the season.

I wouldn't count on it with that dysfunctional franchise.

I've been advocating for Regier's incompetent ass to be fired for a couple years now, still with no success.

Not sure how Pegula could go on with this mess. I live in the Buffalo area and listen to 550 and just listen to the Sabre fanbase taking some vicious shots in regard to Regier. I just can't imagine Darcy keeping his job. I think that the Sabres will rebuild younger, make a few deals, and in doing so I think Regier will be let go. Just my opinion.

I hope you're right, Darcy should have gone with Ruff and I'm hoping Pegula just didn't want to make a huge change during the season but he should at the end.

I've said it until im blue in the face this organization needs an overhaul. G.M., scouting, player development and maybe pres. They need a good hockey man to mold this organization and develop an identity and if they continue to operate the way they have over the years there are no amount of number one draft picks that will fix it.

Teams that succeed do so because they are well run from the top down and make the smart choices.

Mikhail Grigorenko’s first game back in junior was a rousing success Sunday as the 18-year-old the Sabres returned on Friday had a goal and three assists to lead the Quebec Remparts to a 5-3 win over Rimouski in their regular season finale.

Tweets from French reporters covering the game said the crowd of 13,663 broke into chants of “Grigo, Grigo” during the game and provided a huge ovation when Grigorenko was announced as the first star.
