You're Wayyyyyy too much. Red Sox/Yankees has only been a regular season rivalry until they added the wildcard, and even then, they've only met twice. Most Yankees fans I've talked don't consider it a rivalry and could care less about it. Bruins/Canadiens goes back to 1930 and includes both regular season and playoff games. The hatred of the Canadiens has never dwindled where during the 80's and most of the 90's, the Yankees weren't a great ball club and there wasn't much hatred like there is now. Personally, I think it's all the newer bandwagon Sox fans who make the biggest deal of the rivalry. Take it from a fan of all Boston teams, Bruins fans hate the Canadiens way more than Sox fans hate the Yankees.

I hear what your sayin, but that Bruins Rivalry has just been really re newed this year, But the interestin thing is that the Bruins and Habs have only met twice in game 7's and the Habs won both, also the Bruins have never come back to win a series after being down 2-0. Things that make you go hmmmm..

Bruins?Canadiens rivalry - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They have played 7 game sevens against each other 5-2 Montreal. This rivalry has been strong for much longer than this season.

I didn't say it didn't date back further, I just said it wasn't really re newed until this year with the hit and such, and yea I missed quoted the other site I was lookin at. I was concentrating on where it said that they hadn't ever come back after being down 2-0 in a series, Stats are always just that, stats..

This year? they met in the playoffs in as recently as 2008 and 2009, and they play division games every year. They've met a total of 32 times in the playoffs, not including this year. Maybe from a Flyers fans perspective there isn't a strong rivalry, but believe me, Bruins fans have never waned in their hatred for the Canadiens, and the games, regular season and post season, have always been intense.

Not mad at all buddy. Like I said, during the 80's and at least half of the 90's, the was never really any talk about the Sox/Yankees rivalry because if one team was good, the other sucked. As a fan of both Boston teams, I can assure you, Bruins fans have and always will hate the Habs more than the Sox fans hating the Yankees. And I'm pretty sure Habs fans have equal hate for the Bruins where Most Yankees fans I know could care less about the Sox or the rivalry. I hate the Yankees because they spend the most money to buy their championships but that's about it. I don't really hate their players. The Habs I hate with a passion and get a sick kind of joy whenever any of them get injured (though I don't wish a career ending injury or anything like that). Just a perspective from a Boston fan.

Flyers maybe!:fear:

I wouldn't say Sox/Yankees is BS, I just think the Bruins/Habs rivalry is bigger because they met so many times in the playoffs on top of the regular season, where the Sox and Yankees didn't met in the playoffs until they split the leagues into 3 divisions and added the wildcard team. even then, they've only met twice in the playoffs. There's a rivalry with the Yankees as far as Sox fans are concerned, we hate them, but to me at least, it doesn't come close to the Bruins/Habs. Montreal has caused the Bruins fans way more pain over the years.
