I know your joking but honestly, Celtics/Lakers really is only a NBA finals rivalry. Bruins/Canadiens even tops Red Sox/Yankees.

Yes the shit I get is usually dynamite, that's neither here nor there though, B's Habs is not a huge rivalry, yes they've had a few run-ins in the past but nothing like Yanks, Sox etc. Not trying to diminish either teams efforts, but Yea Jeff, I would like to see it come to a real rivalry, wish the Av's didn't suck and still beat up on the Wings constantly like the good old days..

You're Wayyyyyy too much. Red Sox/Yankees has only been a regular season rivalry until they added the wildcard, and even then, they've only met twice. Most Yankees fans I've talked don't consider it a rivalry and could care less about it. Bruins/Canadiens goes back to 1930 and includes both regular season and playoff games. The hatred of the Canadiens has never dwindled where during the 80's and most of the 90's, the Yankees weren't a great ball club and there wasn't much hatred like there is now. Personally, I think it's all the newer bandwagon Sox fans who make the biggest deal of the rivalry. Take it from a fan of all Boston teams, Bruins fans hate the Canadiens way more than Sox fans hate the Yankees.

A loss to Montreal in the regular season has my stomache turning. Not even close to the same with the Sox Yankees. I will not talk to anyone including my wife for the next three days if the Bruins lose tonight. If my wife were not a Bruins fan she would probably root for Montreal.
