Since it's the Off-Season, let's discuss history here.

Among all the awarded "All-NBA First Team" in every season of the NBA since 1946, which All-NBA first team Line Up do you think is the greatest? Greatest means this line up could beat every other All-NBA first team there ever was.

Take into consideration how great these players were when they won that All-NBA first team during that exact season. Here is the List of all "All-NBA First teams"

Mine is: 1992-93's All NBA first team
Mark Price
Michael Jordan
Charles Barkley
Karl Malone
Hakeem Olajuwon

All these 5 guys were at their prime this season. This line up looks unbeatable to me.
2008-09 comes second on my list.

I'll stick 87..

Birds best year (didn't win MVP but was his best individual year, best scoring, FG%, PER, etc of his career)
Barkley's 2nd best according to PER, 30-12 Barkley that year
Hakeem was young but was insane that year in the playoffs (38pts 17 boards in his post-season run)
Jordan.. best all around year. Not his best team, but 35 point 3 steal 6 board 6 assist 1.6 block a game dominate all MJ.
Magic, prime Magic, between MVP years (MJ got it), doing what he does and winning a championship.

Saw that after I posted. Magic was 28.. MVP in 86 and 88. Champ in 87. He was doing fine.
Bird 31. highest scoring season of his career, highest PER of his career, set personal best in 3pters made. Just before the back/bone spur issues the following year which started the downfall.

Bird went from prime to injured. Kinda like saying Grant hill was on his last legs in his final season in Detroit, or Rose in 2010 was on his last legs as elite. Sure it was in hindsight, but it was also their best seasons too.

Oh i see. Thanks for those info.
Yea, I have to agree now that 1987-88 would beat my 1992-93.

It's a tough one to beat.. lol

I really just initially picked it on the names, then saw your bit about prime years and was going to step back until I started looking at them.

Prime Jordan and Prime Olajuwon got my pick. But my lineup has no outside shooter, where yours has Larry Bird still on his peak

Price was a heck of a shooter... And I think I got prime Jordan, you got prime Bulls. :D

Looking at them all, gotta give those 60's teams some love...

1961
Elgin Baylor (39pts 19rb 5ast)
Wilt Chamberlain (50pt 26rb)
Bob Pettit (31pt 19rb 4ast)
Oscar Robertson (31pt 12rb 11ast )
Jerry West (31pt 8rb 5ast )

The two most insane NBA seasons IMO:
O's triple double year
Wilt's 50 point year with his 100pt game. Based on games where there is video or papers recorded blocks, Wilt averaged 8.8 blocks a game... and this would have been his physical insane prime, could be two triple double years.

West/Baylor combined for 71 points a game in the finals that year
Petit was his career year and the "Old man" of the group... at 29.

Too far back for me to really consider with any knowledge and the game has changed, but jesus.. 5 guys combining for 180+ points and 80+ boards.... sick.

I easily would take the 90s version over the 80s version.

He was a stat machine in the 80s, like a rich man's Russell Westbrook, but there was also a reason people were projecting he would never win a title at that time. He was not a team player back then. He learned that he had to sacrifice a bit to make his team better. His knowledge made him a better player in the 90s than he was in the 80s.

Definitely 86-87, Bird, Magic and Jordan are 3 of the top 10 players all time.

Maybe... it's a lot easier to be a "better teammate" when Phil Jackson is coaching and Scottie Pippen is your top playmaker helping you than when it's Doug Collins and Sam Vincent. People were projecting he wouldn't win a title there early on because that roster really sucked, kinda how they were projecting the same about Lebron early on. I bet if he had Wade/Bosh his entire career rather than Old Shaq/Jameson or Mo Williams he'd have those titles sooner. But yeah, it's all conjecture... lol
