Here is the table he posted below with some great stats.

Check out the table below of 14 top receiving prospects and how they stack up.
NameHeight (inches)40-yardVerticalYardsYPCDrop rate Adams, Davante 734.5639.5171813.1NA Beckham Jr., Odell 714.4338.5115219.56.45% Benjamin, Kelvin 774.6132.5101118.79.68% Bryant, Martavis764.423982819.712.50% Cooks, Brandin 704.3336173013.54.69% Evans, Mike 774.5337139420.24.29% Landry, Jarvis 714.7728.5119315.52.50% Latimer, Cody744.43 u39109615.2NA Lee, Marqise 724.523879113.912.31% Matthews, Jordan 754.4635.5147713.27.69% Moncreif, Donte 744.439.593815.911.11% Richardson, Paul 724.438134316.28.89% Robinson, Allen 744.639143214.85.43% Watkins, Sammy 734.4334146414.54.49% Average734.51361255167.00%

Honestly, why trade the farm for Sammy Watkins when we can drop back 5-7 spots and pick up Brandin Cooks? He is only 3 inches shorter and is faster with just as good of hands.

Actually makes more sense to trade up for Evans, his drop rate is lower and and is considerably taller and bigger than both of them.

I like Marquis Lee a lot but that drop rate is completely uncalled for. With Stafford throwing rockets all the time, any receiver over the average of 7% drop rate would be a bad pick for the Lions, in any round.

Because that would involve logic, vision, and unemotional decision making. Have you ever seen any of those qualities from The Clown Show?

Duh! Did you hit your head lately? :suds:

Someone will have to show me some film of the last time Mike Evans actually ran a distinguishable pass route. I would only take him if he fell to the middle of the first round. Defense in the first round please.

Cooks height is a concern, but maybe he is the next Steve Smith.:noidea:

Sigh ..... I swear to god if the Leos go WR in the first I'm going to start buying into the "Millenhew" chants. Hopefully Ford Jr. doesn't hold onto him as long as Sr. did Millen.

Couldn't find any film, mainly bc I didn't have time to look today. But here's a couple scouting reports. You can dismiss them like you did the other scouting reports I gave on Barr, but Evans is rated as a decent route runner that needs to continue to improve.

I remember CJ had route issues as well and he stated he worked hard every offseason to improve. If he gets paired up with CJ, I have no doubt he'd take him under his wing and teach him since they have similar body types.

If you are going to knock Evans for his route running -- you must really not like Watkins, as he caught the majority of his balls within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.

I'd actually prefer Evans over Watkins if both fell to #10 overall (which won't happen). Detroit doesn't have any issues moving the ball between the 20's. Give me another big red zone target.

Golden Tate and Sammy Watkins are very similar players. Watkins is slightly bigger, but both are going to give a lot of the same things. I'd rather have a 6'5" WR with sure hands to throw the ball up to.

There is a reason that the overwhelming majority of WR that lead the NFL in touchdowns and yards are 'big' WR's.

You should keep in mind OCoordinator Chad Morris and his scheme, QB Boyd, and until a defense could stop their screens short routes with Watkins, who is much faster on field than that 4.43 combo time, then why condemn them for what worked.

I agree with Micro and anyone else, that all WR's will have to learn pro-routes. But Evans, JMO, ran an extreme amount of 7 and 9 routes. Once again, in college you can get away with some of most simplistic things because most defenses cannot match up with players like Watkins and Evans collegiate skill-sets.

I agree -- all WRs have to learn to run a full route tree once they get to the NFL. I was just stating -- if someone is going to comment on Evans and his route running, I don't see how you would not say the exact same thing about Watkins.

I'm not condemning anyone. Just pointing out the fact, Watkins caught the majority of his passes near or at the line of scrimmage. That isn't going to happen in the NFL. Ask Tavon Austin, who was another WR that caught the majority of his passes at or near the line of scrimmage (no i'm not saying Watkins is going to be Austin, just using him as an example, as they both played in similar offenses in college).

As far as being faster than the 4.43. That remains to be seen. Personally, if he wasn't happy with his combine time, he could have run at his pro day, which he didn't, so that makes me think he was quite happy with what he put up at the combine.

I think Watkins is more quick than he is fast. That is why I said I think he will end up being most successful in the slot, where he can catch balls coming out of his break on intermediate routes. Like Tate though -- he can easily play both inside and outside.

I cant believe I'm going to say this again, but ummm, Tate is not similar to Watkins at all except for the hands. And Watkins is a good route runner but Clemson chose to use him in the screen game a lot. Why wouldnt they?

Evans is a bit stiff in his routes but he can learn. These prospects are not perfect by any means. I understand when you dont think a player is as good as advertised, but to mention things like the above, is funny.

Im hoping the Iggles draft Lee. A known gang member being selected after the DJax affair would make me laugh. Any first round receiver for the Lions won't be funny though.

40 yard dash:

Golden Tate -- 4.42
Sammy Watkins -- 4.43

Bench Press:

Golden Tate -- 17 reps
Sammy Watkins -- 16 reps

20 yard shuttle:

Golden Tate -- 4.34 seconds
Sammy Watkins -- 4.34 seconds

3 cone:

Golden Tate -- 7.11 seconds
Sammy Watkins -- 6.94 seconds

Vertical Leap:

Golden Tate -- 36 inches
Sammy Watkins -- 34 inches

Broad Jump:

Golden Tate -- 121 inches
Sammy Watkins -- 126 inches

Final year stats in college:

Golden Tate -- 93 catches 1496 yards receiving 15 touchdowns
Sammy Watkins -- 101 catches 1464 yards receving 12 touchdowns

Tell me again how Tate and Watkins aren't similar? Both built more like running backs. Both are good after the catch. Both are sure handed.

The coaches are paid to win Natty's not make sure kids are NFL ready. Coaches are going to do what wins a game. Shortscreens and such killed people for them. Although Watkins did run a complete route tree. The coach called plays that beat the given coverage...

Tebow had many flaws in college that followed him to pros and ultimately not even a clipboard holding job. You think for one second Urban gave a rats ass about his mechanics being flawed??

Everything you posted got Tate a second round grade and a #3-4 spot on the depth chart in Seattle. Watkins is a top 3 player in a draft loaded with WRs.

Comparing stuff like that doesn't compare the players.
