You forgot to give us the "great news" part.

What did anyone expect Bo to say, "yeah I have eard everyone hating on Wats and I will tell you this, I completely agree with everyone. He sucks."

It is what it is............all of my friends told me Pelini would fire Shawn Watson at the end of this season..........I told them all it's not gonna happen and that it's just wishful thinking.

We've just never operated that way at Nebraska........Tom Osborne had many 3 loss seasons and so often people were calling for different heads on the coaching staff.........someone refresh me on how many coaches Osborne fired from his staff over the years

We will ride this pony until either A) it finally works, or B) Watson leaves on his own

You don't think he is smart enough to see that Watson is a subpar OC at best?

I think they look at it differently than we do..........and honestly, I hate to say it, but I think Tom Osborne has a lot to do with it as well.

They see it as this process that will eventually blossom into success........remember how Osborne's offenses had issues and people actually called for Osborne's head (seems unthinkable).......and then finally it came around with the right players in the 90s.

We see it as a flat tire that can't be repaired.........I hope to God they end up being right, because like I said I seriously believe we won't fire Watson.

Damn Terp, did you read the article? Our QB was injured and nevermind that the simple answer to that problem would've been to replace him with a healthy QB.

I'm 100% sure that Bo's loyalty is blinding him to this fact and the fact that Watson isn't capable of making in-game adjustments.

If we had the best offensive talent in America, we would still have 2 to 4 games per year where the offense would bog down almost completely.

Q: Shawn Watson took a lot of criticism again. You took your share over the years, too. What was your take on the offense's inconsistency and performance, especially late in the year?

A: “When you've got a first-year quarterback, I always felt that inexperience could cost you one, two or three games. Oklahoma last year when Bradford went down, they lost four games or something. (Landry Jones) was a good player, he was just inexperienced. The kind of musical chairs we had, the injury to Zac (Lee) and Taylor (Martinez) getting hurt, had a lot to do with the inconsistency in the offense. I think these guys, the whole coaching staff, have done a good job this year. They're trying to get more balanced.

“And let me add this: A few years ago, we weren't real competitive with the top teams, like Oklahoma or Texas. Last year we got fairly competitive. This year, even though we lost three games, we're at a point now where we can go out and play with any team in the country and have a reasonable chance to win the game. It's important that people realize that Bo (Pelini) and his staff have made a lot of progress. Three years ago, when they got here, they would have been delighted to have a winning season and go to a bowl game. Now expectations have gone way up, but the reason they've gone up is because they've done such a good job.”

Yep.......we will continue to ride that horsey until it bucks us off or it eventually crosses the finish line. We have a history of being conservative in this football program.

If Tom Osborne really wanted a change he would tell Bo to make the change...........it's really hard to argue with him at this point because Bo's early career looks almost freakishly similar to TO's early career.

notice in that quote Tom mentioned Zac's injury...

:L.......Zac Lee was ready to go for the A&M game........I have 2 cousins who go to school at UNL and are friends with Lee, Martinez, and Green.

Lee just isn't good enough to help our team win......plain and simple. If he was good enough he'd be starting tonight as he is 100% healthy.

this is all just posturing and politics. It gives us no clue as to whether or not he'll be kept.

Watson's teams have been inconsistent at best and heavily penalized over the years. Completely undisciplined. There has to be something to that. He's gotta go.

I know, that's why I was being positive when I said it was great news that Pelini has confidence in one of the worst offensive coordinators we've ever seen.

Uh oh, there I go again being negative!

I just thought of something. The injured QB excuse will be used time and again I'm sure, but what's the excuse for inept offense against Texas when everyone else was scoring by the bundles against those guys? Hmmm?

There I go again, being negative!

No you're absolutely right. That was just pathetic. And I know that we've had some unfavorable calls all year, but we still get penalized way too much. What happens when we don't have that excuse of "the Big 12 is out to get us" next year and we still keep killing ourselves with false starts and holds??

It's really hard to blame Wats for the Texas game.. that was on the WR's and drops.. something that the position coach should be responsible for..

but ya, that was pathetic
