I know after training camp and pre-season many of us had high expectations for Latimer after he was making circus catches all over the field. This article does a good job of explaining why he was struggling to find the field. Essentially it boils down to a Peyton Manning type offense is just very difficult for a rookie to get year one. Latimer said he wasn't ready like he thought he would be to handle all that Peyton does. He talked about how he could know the play that was called in the huddle but when Peyton would go to the line and change everything he was just having to think too much and really questioned himself of whether he knew what he was supposed to do. So because of all that the coaches didn't see it quite his time to shine.
Flash forward to this off season and he said he is spending 2 hours a day just in the playbook. He said at the Peyton passing camp at Duke he finally started seeing it all click. It is why the team is expecting so much more from him this season. The talent is there now just a matter of seeing it all come together.
