Grap contract legitimizes KC decision

Grap isn't worth the contract he signed, based on 7 games.

KC isn't worth the contract he's about to sign, either.

$35 million is an insane amount of money for a quarterback not named Brady or Rodgers (possibly Brees).

For the record, I DON'T approve of the way the Redskins handled KC. I like KC. I wanted KC to sign a long term deal in Washington (sorry one trick pony).

But if you've decided that you aren't going to get to the Super Bowl with your qb, no matter the qb, you might as well find a similar qb at perhaps 1/2 the price.

Nick Foles won the super bowl, after all.

Some team is going to pay KC $35 million a season, and they'll get an above average qb who sometimes throws off his back foot, into questionable coverage, at very inopportune times.

And if the Redskins HAD signed him for $35 million a season, they would STILL need to build the team around him, so that he doesn't have to win it on his own - which he can't.

no one knows what his contract will be , no one . the thing is what is the market value ? and what we got was an aging stop gap qb and another hole we didnt have to have

we dont have a great defense , in fact our pass defense just got worse , we dont have a great running game , and we blew draft capitol getting above said stop gap

we didnt get any real cap savings either

without KC last season the skins have 3 wins max

Grap is worth it. KC is worth it. Carr is worth it. They would account for 10-15% of the cap...that is what a starting QB in the NFL costs.

So give me an idea of a,position that is worth a contract. Whom should we pay top dollar for? Should we have paid top dollar for Norman? Should we have paid top dollar for Trent Williams or Ryan Kerrigan?

No one pays retail. Its worth paying retail for Quality, or no one pays retail for Quality unless its also luxury??

1. NO one is going to give Cousins $35M a year because the market has not reached that point.. .yet.
2. Some one is going to give Cousins between $28-30M a year average contract value, because the market HAS reached that point.

3. We got Smith for less because he is like the butchers special at the Winn-Dixie, he might have been a quality cut 10 years ago, he was even a solid cut 4 years ago. But at 34 years of age.. he is not worth a market value contract, so thy slapped a $3-5M a year off sticker on his ass and priced him for quick sale.
