We did this last fall for the Big 12 Championship game and the bowl game. Had it hooked up in the shop so we had a 24 ft. diagonal screen.

do you really need that damn big of a screen?

although, I did spend more time watching the Big 12 CCG on the jerry world screen that I did down on the actual field.

Serious question.....how is the picture? I've never been impressed with the picture quality of any type of projection system....wether it be the old large screen rear projection tv's or the true projection of front facing systems......obviously it's possible because a movie theater doesn't have bad resolutions, I just haven't seen personally an in home setup that I was impressed with.

Not to be too snarky.....I guess with a response like that I've nothing left but to be slighly snarky mr captain obvious.....

Ok, let me be more specific....one of the things I personally dislike aobut every projection system that I've seen is that it washes out in any ambient light......for movies and a close family viewing, no problem to turn the lights out.....If you've got a bunch of guys over to watch the football game in the middle of the day, not so easy to make the room pitch black to get optimal viewing quality.....

I'm not saying projection viewing is horrible, was simply asking OP's opinion on it....every bar I've been in that has projection viewing has all the windows covered, blocking out all external light......

My home, I try and block out all external light.....no big deal.....my questions were not to bash the sytem, just to find out how well newer technology has advanced......I don't care if it's "HD", does it wash out or not? If the room has to be completely pitch black to enjoy the picture that is something to consider.......for movie folks that will only be watching in dark setting, that could be fucking great experience......if you want to have some light in the room, I was curious how that looks........

sheesh.....now I feel like BRS having to do this long and drawn out explanation of something I thought was a simple question......
