Great. Jenkins will have that many just by falling forward.
I'm still high on Jenkins. He is what we wanted in round 1 this year - a DT that had both the film and the athleticism to be a threat rushing inside. While I still wanted Nolen to beef up the DT spots, a DE was also a solid get (even if I don't agree with the exact player) - but bottom line is that I think Jenkins can still fill that rush-3 tech role.

We'll give Golden the benefit of the doubt. One argument about selecting a guy like Stewart under Golden is that while Lou failed to really develop guys, Golden hasn't been given a shot. Now, I'd prefer a more productive guy along the line going onto a defense that sorely needed production - but I won't hold Golden for the failures of the past defensive staff, which I kind of was if I'm being 100% honest...hard not to do.

Going to be very interesting to watch how all of this plays out - but I thought Hill was doing well at CB as well as Turner. If Golden can work with CTB to get some of that confidence back (or maybe he looks better at S than he does CB where he can use his ball skills more, and man coverage issues less) we'll find out, and you get McKnight in there at LB, and if Stewart can at least help in some areas - and Trey is Trey - suddenly the defense is better. Doesn't have to be top 10, just not bottom 5.

I like that Golden talks about flexing his defense based on what guys do well, and what they don't...something I feel Lou was unable to accomplish.

I'm also high on Jenkins. I think it's unfair to judge his season because he played a lot of it with a broken hand. I realize that d-linemen can put a club on their hand and play, but it's hard for me to imagine that this didn't impact his ability to rush the passer. I think it just made the learning curve that much steeper. I don't expect him to be a big sack guy, but I think he has a chance to be a very good all-around defensive tackle in this league. We'll see.

I'm curious to see how Golden uses the talent he has. As you mention, Golden wants to flex his defense based on the parts. I keep thinking back to the way Lou refused to use Dax Hill's talents. He barely put him on the field in his rookie year and when he did put him in favorable spots, Dax did some stuff - Think of that big sack he had on Stafford on that MNF game. I could never understand why Lou didn't let Dax play in the slot or play man-to-man on tight ends during his rooke year. Dax could do those things without thinking.... Then he didn't do anything to help him during his second year when he struggled to pick up Bates' position. Same point with Murphy and Ossai - He buried both guys on the bench rather than thinking of creative ways to get them involved. It took Hubbard getting injured to get other guys time.

I'd like to see how Golden deploys some of the rookies. Stewart has promise as a guy that can move around a little on passing downs. Barrett could get some snaps on D and make some plays if put in a good situation. It would be cool to see him do more with his safeties to let them be more aggressive. Etc, etc.
