Now let's see what happens when you get Edwards, Crab, VD and Gore all out there.

as long as the O-line stays on the upswing, this offense will get better. we already had enough 'weapons' to win, so adding Braylon only helps.

how much better will this offense get? eventually, Alex Smith's ability will determine that? but ok, lets not worry about that now. :-)

This.

You can have 4 pro-bowl WRs and 2 PB TEs, but if you have a QB who can count down his options, it is worthless.

It is all dependent on Alex.

Edwards gives us a unique weapon in the red zone. We really could have used that over the past couple weeks. And he's an upgrade over Morgan at WR. At some point it will come down to Smith, but giving him a little more talent to play with certainly won't hurt. Edwards is a good deep threat, as well, which might push the D back a bit.

Edwards gives us a legitimate deep threat while Crabs do the dirty underneath work, and Davis/walker wreck havoc in the seam routes. Edwads could also take slants on third downs and use his big body to shield people and convert the first downs (move the chains). Most importantly, he's a great down the field blocker in the running game AND his presence will prevent teams from stocking up the line in the hopes to stop Gore.

outside of the offensive line, crabtree is the biggest problem on the offense.

Yeah, over the last few games, the OL really stepped up and played solid for Smith and us.

Don't know why Crabtree is viewed as a problem?

any hoot, Edwards, make a speedy recovery and come back strong for us! we need you for the long haul this season.

The real problem is the chemistry between Alex and Crabs.

That's very true and the really the only thing I got a problem that involves Crabtree(diva-ness comes #2).

Really wish Crabtree freaking developes some sort of connect with his QB... but even in practices, why hasn't it manifested? oh well....

Edwards practiced yesterday, so things are looking good for Sunday:

SANTA CLARA -- Receiver Braylon Edwards ran short, intermediate and deep routes at top speed Tuesday afternoon, as he returned to 49ers practice for the first time in a month.

Edwards underwent arthroscopic surgery Sept. 19 on his right knee to repair a torn meniscus. It appears as if he will be available to return to action Sunday at Candlestick Park against the Cleveland Browns, the team that made him the No. 3 overall selection in the 2005 draft......

49ers WR Edwards returns to practice

Good to hear! I was a little concerned after he was reduced to a "maybe" earlier. Having him back will be huge!
