If there’s a gadget TE this year, it’s your boy Shaheen. Burton will get most snaps. Nagy likes offensive mismatches.

.

Gadget??? Shaheen plays one position TE and is a bigger mismatch then Burton. I bet we won't see Burton in the red zone much, that's Shaheen territory. Anyway Shaheen is a 2nd rd pick and Burton undrafted for a reason. Shaheens ceiling is much much higher. Maybe Burton turns out or maybe he does not, there is no way to say. Based on the past? Third string player that can fill a role but not starting material. At 2 mil a year and I would be OK with taking a chance on him, at 8? with 6 guaranteed no thanks. I predict both Burton and Gabreil both flash but we never get our moneys worth. Shaheen and Miller will be the starters by week 6.

I’ll take paves opinion over yours, thanks though. Would you like to place a friendly wager? Avi bet or something? I am 100% sure Burton ends up with better stats than Shaheen by the end of the season. Shaheen is a gadget guy because he’s going to be the red zone guy. Burton, however will be in in red zone situations as well. I bet we see a lot of 2 TEs, Robinson, and Miller in the red zone altering Howard and Cohen in based on situation. We might even see no RBs and Sims, Wims, or another big WR in too. I don’t get you fascination with Shaheen. He looked pretty good, but he’s still gonna ways to go.

And I'll take 32 GMs opinion over Paves, whoever that is. Shaheen was drafted in the top of the 2nd rd, Burton not drafted at all. 32 GMs agree with me. And I don't get your fascination with Burton, Shaheen put up better numbers in his half season then Burton in 3 full seasons.

And Ryan leaf was taken second overall. That still doesn’t make him a better player than Rodgers, Brady, or brees. Its quite a reach to use draft position at this point in their careers.

Ryan had the size and arm to dominate. He was a mental midget. It's not draft position that has my panty's all wound up, it's the talent, size and speed. Look I like Burton, I just think at his price it's a big risk to take for a player with his track record. I also don't want to stunt Shaheen's growth as I think he will be a top TE one day. I think Nagy will use both a lot. I do think Shaheen's ceiling is much higher then Burtons.

Holy logical fallacy.

- Burton came into the league without a position. After playing mostly QB, along with WR, TE and FB in college. He was a QB at Florida, that had the misfortune of being there at the same time as Tim Tebow. So, they tried to get him on the field wherever they possibly could.

I've told you about Burton not being a TE in college. Stop repeating this innacuracy. You're being dishonest, Noon.

- They just had this thing where players get re-selected... it's called free agency. Burton's worth was determined to be higher than Shaheen's by quite a bit. He got 4 years/32 million (8 mil per). Which slots him in as the 7th highest paid TE in the league, just 500K behind Ertz.

No, GM's don't agree with you.

Ya they kinda do. We overpaid Sims too. Does that make him better too? Look you like who you want and I'll like who I want. Shaheen is our best TE and will show it this year. I have no doubts about it. All FA,s are over paid and it does not mean their better.

Dude... you just tried to use draft positioning as meaning Shaheen is a better player because "GM's valued him higher" during each of their draft seasons. Lol. That's my point. People screw up in the draft all of the time. People screw up in free agency all of the time. However, using your own logic (GM's value) you are incorrect. Burton is currently valued higher, as he is one of the 6-7 highest paid TE's in the league. I am merely going by the arbitrary barometer you set for "player value"... which is what NFL GM's think.

Is this some kind of troll job? You cannot be serious.

Average NFL TE height is 6'3

Burton is 6'3... He is the prototypical size for an NFL TE.

Adam Shaheen ran a 4.79 40 yard dash
Trey Burton ran a 4.62 40 yard dash

How are you quantifying talent or track record? Burton has had more success in the NFL than Shaheen.

Burton was not even drafted and never has done shit in this league, If Shaheen had his stats we would all be yelling bust. Yes I used draft position as that is how foosball works. Sure you can manipulate that to fit your needs if you want. People screw up in FA all the time. Pace more often then most. Sims is paid near the top too so he must be a true threat also. I'm starting to think your trolling me. The fact Burton is paid top TE money is a sign of Pace's ineptitude and yet one more mistake in a long line of mistakes. Pace is far and away the worst GM in the league in terms of FA misses. He is a great drafter tho, but he should not be allowed near the FA market. Go ahead and tell me about the 5% he got right and feel free to gloss over the 95% he screwed up on. I don't know if your trolling me or gone pure homer but the blinders are on that I do know. I can put up Butons numbers if you need but you won't like it. 2 yds per carry and 9 yds per reception. It totals out to third string player at best. Hell D Brown our third string TE has put up much better numbers then Burton has, maybe he needs a huge pay raise so you can think he is a stud too. I can't use draft position to evaluate talent but you can use money. Is it nice being king of the world?

lolol 6'3 is tiny and not near average. Infact Burton is the smallest TE in Bears history. Also smallest in our div. But that's a moot point because he is not a TE anyway. He is a crossover slot guy running routes from the TE position and slot positions. Sorry Rich but he is not starting material here or anywhere he has been. If Burton has had more success then Shaheen then Shaheen is a 100% pure bust.

We overpaid Burton, but we also reached on Shaheen. So, I guess that means we don’t know how other GMs value these players.

@noonthirtyjoe is posting a lot of bumpable material for the future. Burton is going to be a stud, man. We got a TE that looks like Kelce, but was buried on the depth chart by TWO elite TEs on a team that just won the super bowl. We also have a TE that looks like Gronk, but only had his rookie year to prove it. I think Burton is going to be our best TE this year, but wouldn’t be surprised if Shaheen busted out too. I could even see it coming down to match ups as to who has the better game. At this stage in their careers, I’d take Burton, but I could see someone wanting Shaheen over Burton too. We got size (Shaheen) and speed (Burton) at the position.

I agree with point 1 and 2 but you lost me at 3. We do know how they value them, that was made clear. I like Buton and think he will be a nice piece of the puzzle. I just don't think he will live up to the money. At his money he needs to be very good. I think he is a part player only and not a block piece. I don't see anything in his past that warrants that huge contract.

What we got is a guy that has never been a starter and never been paid attention too by defenses and he still only average 2.0 per run and 9.0 per catch. We don't know what we got. I am not a Burton hater but I don't like the big swing big money bet. I don't like the Burton or Gabreil moves this offseason. I like most of what Pace has done but not 100% of it.

They aren’t the sexiest names, but they are very good players with a lot of ability that will fill roles effectively on offense. This offense isn’t going to look like anything we’ve seen in Chicago.
