A ray of sunshine for the Pats offense if an appeal isn't a lengthy process:

You had an unobstructed path to your opponent," NFL vice president of football operations Merton Hanks wrote in a letter to Goldson informing him of the suspension. "It is clear that you lowered your head and unnecessarily rammed the left side of your helmet into the left side of your opponent's head.
You delivered a forceful blow with your helmet and made no attempt whatsoever to wrap up your opponent or make a conventional tackle on the play," Hanks continued. "This illegal contact clearly could have been avoided."

He is appealing the suspension. He still might play.

If true then the league is failiing it's in effort to clean up the game. Providing an option should not be an option. I don't care that he plays he doesn't worry me all that much, but the league is cowering here and it sets a bad precedent IMO

Yup I just read that...he accepted a $100K fine instead.

What a joke...

The Tampa Bay Times reported the suspension would have cost Goldson one game check or $264,705.00

He got off easy.

Exactly the fine is actually less money and the league sends the message " Hey you now have options available to you if you want to play dirty" I get a real kick out of how they are fumbling around with this. The intent is great they need to try and reduce injury and dangerous plays. But this is very much one step forward two steps back.

Agree. He's had 15 personal fouls since 2010. That is ridiculous! Suh and Goldson wont learn by small fines. $100k bis nothing compared to what they make weekly.

How much you want to bet this prick knocks someone out of the game. I see a whole boat load of trouble coming if he does...I just fear it's someone we really need!

My fear it will be Edelman. He's injury prone and we need him. He's had a few concussions.

Most of the shit suh had been fined for has been questionable to even address. Suspension would be absurd.

I know there are going to be a lot of eyes on me from now on. And that's OK. I just have to be smart. I'm not trying to hurt my team and I'm definitely not trying to hurt myself with the way I play.

What about the other player you dick!

Well, I think most players will say they want to put the hurt on their opponent. The whole "hearing foot steps" thing. 99.9% don't want to injure a player.

One of these days one of these guys are going to break their neck leading with the head.
