We have to be creative now to make anything the D-backs do the rest of the year interesting. So how about a D-back stat watch? When Goldie went down, he pretty much led the team in every offensive category (usually, disturbingly, by a ton).
So with about 50 games left, can anyone on the Dbacks surpass him? Predictions?! Here are the stats:
AVG: Only Pollock and Peralta have better than his .300 Avg, but do not have the ABs to count. Can either accumulate enough ABs and maintain a +.300 avg?
HR: Miggy needs 9 to surpass him and Trumbo needs 13. Should be exciting.
RBI: Miggy needs 11. This category seems the most reachable next to...
SB: Owings needs 3, Pollock needs 2, and Inciarte needs 4. My $ is on this stat.
OBP: Nobody is within 30 points. Not looking good.
Runs: Hill is the closest and needs 37 runs. My $ is on the injured Goldie.
BB: Hill needs 31. Not likely.
2b: Hill needs 18. Thinking not.
