Honestly, I'd sit Burfict for a game. He was out of control on Sunday. The penalties and bush league crap have no place. This is a team that needs a come to Jesus meeting defensively. Pretty tough to circle the wagons when your best player, and unquestioned leader on defense, is running around pickin up PF's and ripping dudes legs off. Things like this are why Burfict went undrafted(in addition to an awful 40)

That is an awful idea. Burfict was more out of control than normal because he had too many ants in his pants from sitting for nearly a month.

Hell he only played 1/2 a game against Baltimore. 1/2 a quarter against Atlanta. Then he sat against Tennessee, the BYE week, New England. Dude had too much pent up energy. It is like loading a kid up on sugar and making him sit in the corner for 20 minutes and then releasing him into a gym of bouncy houses.

Last thing we need to do is sit him, especially since he is still our best player on defense and we will need all the help we can get against Andrew Luck in the dome.

I agree the twist of Newton was pretty deliberate, but I have watched the Olsen tackle probably 20-25 times and I just can't see him trying to twist his ankle. He made the tackle and held on while finishing his momentum. Sometimes guys are grabbed by the legs, the tackler thinks he is down, but his knees never hit the ground and off he goes so it looks like a broken tackle. Burfict is not letting go of anyone until that whistle blows. Cam has an argument, and Olsen is just a freaking baby.

I don't disagree with anything you said. But at some point a presedent needs to be set. The lack of discipline defensively on Sunday was inexcusable. It all starts with Burfict. He's the leader and tone setter. At some point Marv needs to put his foot down and get the point across. They can't have 140 yards of penalties. As far as the leg twisting goes, better to handle it in house now, before the league starts piling up evidence and he becomes even more of a target for the officials. I'd rather not have Burfict suspended later on down the road because he continues to act like a thug. They probably won't beat the Colts with or without Burfict.

The 140 yards in penalties were bogus. That crew has called the most penalties in the league this year by far.

Both personal fouls against Burfict were bogus, btu I can live with the one against Newton only because Burfict dipped his helmet even if he didn't hit him with it. The act of dipping his helmet near point of impact was called more to protect Burfict there I think than Newton.

The botched up the false start against Gio as the play was not set, Dalton started calling his audible and Gio stepped forward to hear the audible call. Bogus. The holding penalty against Smith was bogus that negated the TD run by Hill. The blocking in the back call against Whitworth was bogus as the defender was coming at Whitworth and then turned quickly to try and make a play on the ball and right as Whitworth left his feet the guy turned and got hit in the side/back shoulder. You are not supposed to call that crap when it is that quick and no lining up to hit someone in the back.

Then they missed the actual fumble that Dalton threw to Sanzenbacher that wound up netting us 7-8 yards and I am not sure, but might have been a first down.

The refs blow. The only thing they didn't call that should have been called was the PF on Burfict against Newton.

Burfict not only played out of control, he also didn't play particularly well. This was his issue at ASU - He seemed to be more interested in knocking dudes out of the game than actually doing his assignment. He had been fairly under control his first two seasons on the league and he needs to get that discipline back.

So he has been perfect for 2 years and he had a bad game, did some things he wasn't supposed to do because he was pressing too hard to do something to help us win, and you are going to throw him under the bus?

He will get talked to a lot by Marvin and Gunther. He will be back in control and being the player he was this week. He is still going to do little things to piss off opposing offenses to make them want to retaliate back because that is what he has done for 2 years, just has not been caught on tape too much before like he was Sunday.

It was his first game back after being hurt for the first time in his pro career, and he was tryign to do too much even play a little dirty if that meant helping the team win. Obviously that will be looked down upon, he will be lectured by Marvin and he will tell Burfict to do his own job, play within the rules, but play hard. I tend to think this was a mental lapse due to his bad game he was having and his first game back in several weeks.

I would rest him for his concussion issues. the refs did send him out to get evaluated once and he came back. so the Bengals might be playing him out of desperation, if his judgement is clouded by the injury it could be a factor.

Burfict has temporarily crossed over to the dark side. He needs to cross back. IMO a game suspension might get his attention and do him some good. What's funny is they didn't call him for the ankle twisting, which was blatant, but called him for a couple of questionable personal fouls.

the refs just don't call all the fouls.

part of the entertainment and gets us emotionally involved.

Like calling 5 piss poor penalties against us. That certainly got me emotionally involved.

PS..I have watched the Olsen tackle like 25 times now and I still cannot see anything other than a tackle and Burfict holding on and not letting go until the whistle is blown. His momentum carried him a bit, but I didn't see anything blatant like I did with the Newton tackle.

You must admit, he tried to twist Cam's leg off......

There ain't no doubt he gave him a little extra. At first he had a little momentum, but they all came to a stop, then he twisted and lifted a little. Newton kicked him in his concussed head, so all is fair in love and football.
