as a fan of a team that had one of the best second halfs of the season in the league least year only to still come up short of the playoffs because they lost 14 straight early...

hells yeah, those kind of points in October are a real nice thing!

One Question you guys can answer for me is Why did they get rid of Ties? Was it just to create more points or what?

Make the games more exciting in order to win back fans after the lockout.

Also the extra points help create parity in the League.
