Everyone loves the draft .. And every year, we have guys earmarked for the Broncos, guys that can't miss, guys who we think will be busts and probably the most fun, the sleepers .. We all love to talk about who's going to be great, even if they are not household names ...

But we all have been wrong

I thought it would be interesting to list some of the players you were wrong about .. To admit it ...

(( It's also OK to admit we don't have hair like Mel Kiper ))

So let's hear about the players who you were wrong about, both in terms of overrating and underrating ..

The ones I thought would fail:

- Christian McCaffery ... I didn't think he was going to cut it ..
- Jared Goff ... I admit, I thought the Rams made a huge mistake

The ones i thought would be greats .. ( some still have time )

- Isaiah Simmons .. I thought this guy was gonna tear up the league
- Dax Milne ... He's still young, but I thought he'd have numbers like Cooper Kupp
- Jason Campbell .. I thought he'd be a Top 5 QB for a long time in the NFL

I had a superior officer in the US Army who was fond of telling me that I had been educated beyond the grasp of my intellect. If he had been referring to my NFL draft knowledge, he would have been correct. But since he wasn't talking about my NFL draft knowledge - I had his finance records mailed to Vietnam with no return address - and he didn't get paid for 90 days.

First, that's a great story Mingo.

Second, I hated Chris Harris for whatever reason, and that was obviously a mistake.

Hated the Jarvis Moss, Lelie picks, but loved Cutler, Middlebrooks, and Deltha O'Neil picks.

Ehh, arm chair GM for you.

I regret that Elway listened to me re Josh Allen. He threw for a really low percentage at Wyoming and didn’t come up big in the games vs Big schools, so I really didn’t want him at #5.

Oops.

I’ll never get over the fact that people somehow think that Vance Joseph or Vic Fangio were the guys to coach Josh Allen into the QB he is today. The reason Josh Allen is any good is he had Brian Daboll to mentor him. Denver had no one like that on their coaching staff.

I don't know that Daboll had that much of an effect, he's done jack squat for Daniel Jones.

Daniel Jones is still a bust but as small as it is, look at his numbers before Daboll became his head coach and then after, he’s done much better.

I'll take your word for it. Could be just the maturation process and adding weapons for him, but I will admit a bias against Daboll. Hes reportedly a jerk.

Look on the bright side - if its anything like Bo's tenure at Auburn, your face will come out unscathed

How do you come to hate a guy that didn’t even get drafted? I can understand having low expectations for undrafted guys, but hate?

Its not that serious. I hated the signing, I didn't know him from Adam at the time. Obviously I wanted them to address that position in another way besides an UDFA.

Mistakes (Some that come to mind)

TJ Yeldon, RB, Jaguars
Leonte Carroo, WR, Dolphins
Reuben Foster, LB, 49ers
Vernon Hargraves, CB, Buccaneers
Kadarius Toney, WR, Giants (Several times I said I hope the Chiefs don't end up with Toney because of the type of player he was, and well they did eventually)
Charles Rogers, WR, Lions (Rated him higher then Calvin Johnson coming out, dummy off the field, RIP)
Matt Elam, S, Ravens
Simeon Castille, CB, Alabama (Went undrafted but was very high on him he did play for 4 years as an UDFA, but I had him pegged as an early pick... and then he ran his 40.

I forgot about Calvin Pryor ..

I thought Pryor was going to be a beast in the NFL for 10-12 years
