jeff paterson tweeted this after period 2 ... but the statline held up for the 3rd too ... game high 26:25 for JayBlo ... zero impact ... great public skater

Same story every Flames game. Bouwmeester leads them in ice-time. No shots, no hits, no impact whatsoever. 2 more years x $6.68

Well, I figure over a 82 game schedule, you're gonna have 10 clunkers and this was a clunker.

glad they were able to coast in the 3rd. Sedins each had about 3 minutes ice time in the period.
Lappy had more ice time than Daniel in the game, and Hansen had more ice time than Henrik.

back to back coming up Thurs/Fri

paterson said that after 2 periods

how the hell do you play 27 minutes and not register a shot or a hit??? not even a dump in right on net ... cant even accidentally run into an opposition player?

they completely shut it down after cohos goal which is troubling ... 7 shots in the final 40 ... bad habits ... i see sedins have already taken a third of their total PIMS from last year ... ultra lazy ... wiese and volpatti on the pp in the 3rd

hit of the night - lol

i think I've told this story before, but:

buddy of mine was at a commodities conference in Chicago, and a bunch of them got glass seats from Brian Burke (when he was Nucks GM). so my friend had his beer on the end boards when Bertuzzi crushed someone right at that spot. Of course the beer went everywhere.

my friend sent Burke a letter requesting compensation for the beer from Bertuzzi. He got back on the of the funniest, most scathing pieces of correspondence I have seen - basically calling him three sides of retarded along the way. included was an autographed pic of Bertuzzi.

it was just amazing to me that burke wrote back, and seemingly put a fair bit of thought into it.

yikes.

As I said last year, Flames boost stats against poor teams. Against NHL level teams they are horrible. 13 wins against PO teams last season. 4 of those 13 wins being against Nashville

I don't think this is an earth shattering revelation. Nobody has said that the Flames are a contender/playoff team. They probably fall into the 7 to 11 hole in the Western Conference and will only climb the standings by beating the better teams.

Nope, he'll remain with the Flames until he retires.

to the devastating result of mid round picks for that time which is good for Vancouver

You have to look at the big picture and there is a ton of money coming off the books with expiring contracts after this season. Besides, it's pretty easy to throw around phrases like "blow it up", but that's no guarantee of future success either. For every Pittsburgh and Chicago, there's Florida, Atlanta (now Winnipeg) and Columbus.

i notice you left out the coilers :) ... its early and their boys are gonna go RFA almost all at the same time but they look good

thats gotta be tough watching that going on up the road ... Kevin Lowe took the idiot proof route

I'm still not sold on the Oilers, you don't make the playoffs in October. Long road trip coming up, let's see how things look at the end of November.

5 straight years of missing the playoffs (including two straight years of finishing dead last) and still a shaky defense and suspect goaltending (one hot month doesn't convince me). That's quite the plan KLown has put together up the road.
