Life in the Red's Blog | Gilleylen hanging tough with Packers
I wondered if some team might give Curenski Gilleylen a shot. The answer is yes. The team? The Green Bay Packers.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Gilleylen was one of five tryout players who were signed by the Packers after a rookie orientation.
The report lists Gilleylen as a wide receiver.
Initially, this story might seem surprising. But despite not playing much at Nebraska in the later stages of his career, and switching from wide receiver to running back prior to his senior year, Gilleylen has some freakish athleticism. At the very least, you know he's going to test through the roof with his speed and strength.
But he's apparently done more than just that to remain on Green Bay's 90-man roster.
Credit to Gilleylen. Even when he didn't play, he was always a team player.

In other news, former Husker defensive tackle Jared Crick has signed a deal with the Houston Texans.
Crick will play defensive end in a three-man front for the Texans, moving inside on passing situation, according to the Houston Chronicle.
His reported deal is a four-year contract worth $2.491 million.
