That certainly makes sense. If you're on anything other than TWC, you can't get the games unless it's a national broadcast (ESPN or Fox games). I have to imagine that dramatically reduces their viewership, particularly since most Dodger fans pirate their signal from decent, law-abiding citizens who aren't necessarily cable subscribers. I believe the LA county jail has Dish, so that cuts out another huge swath of their fanbase.

Maybe this is coincidence, but perhaps the Free Agent Class of 2015-2016 has recognized what a dumpster fire the Dodgers have become. Seemingly, no one wants to sign there.

One cannot underestimate the cost of having a clubhouse cancer or two around. And now they have hired a manager with no managerial experience.

Are they going to become the Oakland Raiders of MLB?
I may be in the minority, but I kind of like it when the Dogs are decent and we beat them anyway. I realize mine is a dangerous want though.....for them to always be decent to good, but never want them to win a WS. :heh:

It is strange that they hired Mattingly with little to no experience and he was a players manager who couldn't win over the room......so they go and sign a manager with no experience who looks like a players manager.....curious decision in my eyes.

I'm ok with the Cueto signing, but I wish they would have made the opt out a little more enticing (something like $27M for the first two years). I worry a lot about Cueto for the latter half of this contract.

With Cueto and Shark, I'm happy for the next two years.....after that, I worry.

I love this move. Cueto has always been one of my favorite pitchers.

The Giants' rotation hair game is definitely #1 in MLB.

It's going to be the Summer of Love II.

I heard Jerry getting out of rehab soon.

With the signing of JC, I'm getting juiced fore ST again. Hopefully he turns out to be the second coming of the other JC. :)

Well, there is potential for crushage...if Cueto and SammyJam pitch like it's 2014 and Horse pitches like it's 2012.

Bum can feel free to pitch in any of the last three years.

I know it's, what, two years away, but I can only imagine what Bum's next contract will look like.

Well, Bum's contract has team options for 2018 and 2019. Cain has one team option for 2018 as well. With Cueto's opt out hitting at the same time, the Giants will have some interesting decisions to make that offseason.

I have to say, what with all the crazy amount of $$$ being spent on pitchers this off-season, MadBum's contract is looking better and better every second. As in "Best contract signed by the Giants in the last 20 years".
