I had the pleasure of attending the beginning of what might be the big turnaround in the Giants 2013 season last night at AT&T Park. It was Lon Simmons 90th birthday and the Giants came through winning 2-0 over the division leading D-Backs. It was good to see Lon Simmons back in SF who threw out the ceremonial first pitch in last nights game. Happy Birthday to Lon Simmons who I learned a lot of baseball from as a child with a transister radio under my pillow at night.

Gaudin pitched terrific and the bullpen was stingy ending with another save by All Star Sergio Romo. The Giants seem to be on a mission and their body language indicates that this years fight is far from over. Don't count this group out who seems to play their best ball when their backs are against the wall. Two first inning runs driven in by Posey and a refreshed Hunter Pence were enough to send a full house home happy.

The Giants played good sound baseball and that should be what they need to concentrate on the rest of the way to go and things will all fall into line. Bochy managed the end of the ballgame perfectly and the whole team looks focussed again. Now if all this talk of the Giants being sellers at the trading deadline would stop and Sabean gets off his behind and attacks the trade market to fill a few holes the Giants will make a run with this good stretch of home games coming. It's time to go for history for the dynasty, ballz out and with their backs against the wall once again.

Go Giants !!
