This is number one reason I want the playoffs expanded. Bowls have reverted to being meaningless exhibition games. The amount of players that skip bowls is the proof of that

In an 8 game system, you would have had the following matchups...

LSU vs. Wisconsin

tOSU vs. Baylor

Clemson vs. Oregon

Oklahoma vs. Georgia.

I could see Georgia beating Oklahoma.

But aside from that, the second round would look much like the playoffs did anyway with LSU, tOSU and Clemson advancing.

If the Top 8 stuck where they are it would've been worse since you're having three teams who lost their conference championships, two of which losing by double digits. Conference championship games at that point really don't matter.

Reverted implies Bowl Games were ever more than that.

I would make it 12 with the top 4 getting Byes. In the end it probably won’t change the eventual outcome of the NC, but it would make the “bowl” season more fun to watch

havent we already crossed that bridge? Playoffs don’t exclude non-conference winners, so that argument is a bit odd
