No Havlat for game 4. What a surprise? I heard TMacs comments. Doesn't seem like he is too happy with Havlat. He was making references to being hurt and being injured where it seemed like if you are hurt you can play. I don't know just what I read into the comments. He wasn't sure if it was a new injury. I think he has had enough of Havlat too. So I guess it is Tim Kennedy again? Maybe Burrish can make an appearance. Never in my wildest dreams would I say I'd be happy to see Adam Burrish play again :)

Havlat didnt take a real stride until his 3rd shift and he left after that Im pretty sure. Dont think he re-injuried himself because he looked at 50% to start the game! He would take like 2 half strides and glide around the ice, he was not even moving haha

Well, maybe I dont miss him that much ahaha :yahoo:

Whoops I meant to post the MM stuff in the series 2 thread. Yeah MM is not free of guilt of being injury prone, but at least he's playing right now and the Sharks could use his two way play.

Had the Sharks ended up losing in OT, or the game went to multiple OTs, this whole ordeal would have been magnified. Forcing the staff to shuffle lines just half a period in hampers everything and it could have costed them game 3.

Why did Havlat say he can go when he clearly could not? Why did the staff re-insert him into the lineup when he couldn't even take a real stride?

That's not what I took away from his comments. He seemed pissed that Havlat told him he was good to go then a period into the game said he was still too injured to continue and it left the team short handed the rest of the game.

Isn't the staff also responsible for this? They can't just go by a player's word. They need to see him skate well and prove to them that he is game ready. I fault both parties, but mainly the staff. Players will always want to play, it's up to the staff to determine if the player is healthy enough to contribute.

He wasnt skating hard in the warm ups anndd he was the last guy off the ice and I thought there was no way he was going to play. The staff had to have seen this? I mean everyone at the tank saw it.

You guys see Logans quote about his injury?

"I would hope every player on this team would play through injuries and do whatever they can to help us win," Couture said. "It's what hockey players do. You know what you're playing for. I don't want to let anyone down in this room, and I know everybody here feels the same way. So you play through whatever you can to help the team."

Makes you love the guy so much more while disliking Havlat even more haha

Well - in all fairness Havlat may actually be trying to do that and is just broke-dick. My problem, as articulated above, is we DO NOT have time or resources to have a broke-dick player on the sheet for a playoff game. The coaches/trainers could not have been blindsided by this guy's fragility... about 10 minutes of full contact practice would have said everything that needed to be said.

Sharks need to do a better job here and Havlat should really restructure his contract if he has any pride/integrity as a team guy.

Can't restructure a contract in the NHL.
