Incidentally - because I am a frequenter of the Marleau critique bandwagon - Both the big guys showed up big time in this game. That was one of the better playoff efforts I have seen from Patty in a while, not because of a lot of goals but because of the work. Same goes for Patty.

I was at the game last night, and didn't see the play, just saw the pileup into Niemi. At first, I thought for sure it was going to be a penalty on the Sharks. Was it a legit LA penalty?

Haha I thought it was for sure going to be a pen to the Sharks! But saw the replay after the game and he basically charged Nemi. He wasnt pushed he just didnt stop or try to dodge him one bit.

richardson did it in game 2 as well, they are literally launching themselves into him like missles when hes prone in butterfly that shit is very dangerous for the goalies, richardson actually made head contact with nemo

The fucked up part about that play in LA is sheppard got a roughing call for protecting Nemo granted it was after richardson had already launched himself into Nemos head

Everyone sees the calls through their own looking glass and calls in this area are a matter of preference and perspective. What grinds me is that they are woefully inconsistent. Richardson should have gotten a call with Sheppard in LA - or neither.

The league is wholly reactionary imho. The league wont do anything until a goalie gets a fractured pelvis and blown out knees because of a play like this and then will swing the pendulum way to far the other direction... see "head shots".

stated perfectly thats whats fucked up, the kings are launching themselves at Neimi with the intent of hurting him, its fucked up that its going to take an injury for them to do something about it

I want to know if Penner and/or Quick will at the very least be fined in the manner that Dougie was. Wilson's comment on Torres' suspension was pretty well spoken, IMHO, yet the organization was fined 100K for those comments. If these 2 boneheads aren't at least fined, you know something is up.
