nope. all they could muster was a WEAK ASS slapshot by elias from the point? WTF?!?!?!?!? and to think these are playoff battle tested vets out there. shit you would think that these clowns were rookies. 6v4 final min season on the line and all you could muster is a lazy wrister by zajac from the top of the circle? at least that found the net!

problem is this EXACT same team is coming back next year!

clarkson will be resigned as will elias. zubrus is 50/50 poni is gone.

the defense will all be the same i dont believe there are any ufa's back there.



and that is the problem with this team...everyone is too comfortable its a country club out there. everyone is buddy buddy which is fine to a certain extent but they need to make some moves. but who do you move?

gio's line stays the same. elias/kovy/henrique/loko/zajac all stay. that doesnt leave much to move.

To be fair , not many teams can lose their 2 best players (2 future HOFers) for long amounts of time , in a shortened season , and expect things to just go perfect.

I expected us to stay in the hunt because I thought guys would show up after the loss of Kovy but it just goes to show you how important a guy like that is to free up room for other players. Its horrible to see how flawed guys like Zajac , Henrique , Clarkson etc are w/o a big time scorer around them.

Imagine if he stayed in Russia this season and what were playing with now was our lineup from day 1? We would probably have 10 less points then the Panthers right now.

no but seriously i will be sick to my stomach if clarkson/elias/zubrus get "loyalty" contracts like pando and colin white got.

im just guessing but it seems that lou is the type of gm that wants to be 100% hands on. so i doubt beek is telling him hey dont spend money. i think lou's ego here is that other star players have left and scrubs stepped up to fill the void it will happen again. you can only go to that well so often though.
