Still too little too late for this year, but this does bode well for the FO making tough choices re eating salary etc for next year.

I think that started back with the Molina trade. Giants were willing to say f-you to Molina in favor of Posey. Not that he had a bad contract or anything, but the message was there that they were't taking nonproductive play.

Yeah, Heath, I think you needed to be more specific, like not feeling this good 'about a roster move' since the Molina trade?

True, sort of. Also, Molina was flat out blocking Posey who needed to take the helm.

Rowand and Tejada aren't really blocking anyone, but they are total deadweight and the brass is saying 'contract or not, we gotta put our best team out there'. I like that a lot.

I hope it also means they will loosen the purse further. Didn't the sellout streak end yesterday? They ain't dumb, another month of a team this disastrous and good luck filling up every game next year.

Fair enough, but speed is useless if no one is on base.

The only way I'm wavering from my 'season over' stance is if the Giants win today, the Dbacks lose, and then we sweep them.

Literally any other outcome and we are really well and truly done. 2 back with 22 to play incl 3 vs AZ is doable. 4+ back is not.

The Championship was a prolonged experience, and can't be isolated into one pure moment of happiness. Immediate satisfaction only occurs from reading about how disgusted Rowand was cleaning out his locker. The anticipation of better things to come tend to even outweigh the pay-off. Now, let's watch an awful line-up beat the Cubs!

I'll take a self-imposed two-day ban (kinda like getting less of a punishment from the NCAA for turning yourself in). Of course, there were many happier moments last season (and even some this year). Yes, msg, I haven't felt this good about a roster move since the Molina trade.

However, I do contend that the anticipation of good things to come can be better than the outcome because at the time of the anticipation there is no way to be let down. No more Tenada and Blowand! This beats the hell out of whining about the offense for the millionth time in a row. That can start up again around 1 pm PDT.
