I just created a thread on this topic.

What a dumb shit. You would think that people who make MILLIONS of dollars a year using their hands in a small window of time in their lives would be more careful around knives (or doing wheelies on motorcycles).

Well, there is one opening in the pen for next year. No way the Giants have him back now...

You'd think he'd know better than to try to cook frozen hamburgers. Got to let them thaw in the fridge overnight. Jesus.

Extra reason to love the kid :)

Chances he is on the team next year?

Over/Under starts at 100%.

Takers?

EDIT: BTW, what browser are you using???

Oh! You mean Vogelsong. Yeah, I'll take the over.

I'm using firefox, I think the formatting issue is the cut and paste from the mercury - they must be using back-ticks for single quotes.

You'd think a guy who makes $5 million would be able to buy, you know, regular hamburgers, and not the frozen ones.

Can the injuries get any worse for this team?

Oh, and Cal, it wasn't a motorcycle accident, the dude was washing his truck. Get it right, man! :cool2:

Really. Hell, if I was his butcher he'd get them specially made with a little pork thrown in. At no charge.

Yeah. From Baggs' blog. Never had that happen before, as I have cut and pasted plenty from Baggs in the past.

Me too. But, I've seen back-ticks screw up formatting in other places. I'm guessing they've recently updated something in how they post to the blog. Some idiot programmer mistaking a back-tick for a single quote.

Dude had an accident...he wasn't doing anything innately hazardous. Bad parallel to Jeff Kent, IMO. It's unfortunate, but actually might work out well for us as we'll decline his $5MM option for sure now and may be able to sign him for less.

I hear he runs with scissors too. I'd also bet he looked down the barrel of jammed BB guns as kid. Always a good idea to allow for the worse possible outcome, and determine if the next thing you're about to do is really worth it.

Sure, but who really does that when grilling a few burgers? It's not like he thought "hmm....worst possible outcome is I miss the rest of the year....guess I'll do it anyway." More likely he was thinking "gotta get these frozen burger patties on the grill so I can get back to my party.....FUCK!! Someone grab a towel!!"

In law school we called this fictitious safety dude the "reasonably prudent person." He doesn't actually exist. We all go through yellow lights, cut corners on safety, fail to wear protective eyeware, etc. Doesn't make us stupid. Generally, the older we get the more risk adverse we become, but anyone can cut himself with a freaking knife.

There's a big difference between what Affeldt did and grabbing on to the rear bumper of the N Judah as it goes through the Duboce tunnel....which I did several times as a 7 year old. Now THAT was stupid.

FOOK YOU BUMS!! TIMMAY!!

Lince has a fighters spirit. I don't think he's playing to win for the Giants as much tonight (given that we're pretty close to being done) as much as he just wants to beat Kershaw.

I would think that everyone at least plays for numbers at the end of a season like this. It's better to end with an ERA under 3 and a record over .500...

Where the fuck did this thunder and lightning... and now rain wtf?
