Lineup:

CF Torres
3B Burriss
2B Sanchez
1B Huff
RF Schierholtz
LF Belt
SS Crawford
C Stewart
P Cain

Belt in! Stewart in! Babe Crawford in! Nate is the only guy with some good history vs. Gallardo. Nobody with any real ownage over Cain on the Brewers. Counsell does OK.

This is a pitcher we should score some runs off of. Miggy's not in, so we should see some good ABs from most of the hitters. Here's hoping for a series win.

What are you talking about? They got a hit. I don't think they got a hit the whole first time through the lineup the last 2 days. That's an offensive explosion for this team.

Why does the other pitcher always get a wider strike zone than Cain?

TrueNiners/Tommy3000 has a theory. Something about how the league hates the Giants and actively tries to keep them down.

Yeah, he's a nutbar though. I want the real reason.

You're fooled by randomness. Today they are indeed getting umpjacked. But it's hard to argue they get umpjacked any more than average.

True that. At least Cain is settling down...

I'm trying to focus on how early it still is, how weak our division is, and how reinforcements are on the way.

It sucks to no longer be sure we are going to take the division, but we still have every chance at it.

I don't think they do either, I think Cain does. Every game it seems he's shaving the outside corner and not getting the call even when he's established his control and hitting the target exactly. You'd think a guy with his track record would get the benefit of the doubt occassionally.

This ump is starting to even it out and giving him some wide ones now too. Not that it's helping yet.

Crap, down 3-0 now.
