And the plot for Tim Lincecum thickens!

Big standing "O" for the Freak.

This amazed me, he has never had a stretch like this in his entire career, 17 straight scoreless innings.

Still too early, but it is possible that Timmeh 3.0 is almost ready for general release.

So, he's 7-5 with a 4.06 ERA.

That's not fair, though. This is a totally different Timmeh than what we had earlier in the season.

This Timmeh understand that he is not a fireballing strikeout pitcher anymore. And tat is a HUGE realization for him to make.

It was actually a praise, from my part. Given what he was early in the season, he is sitting on respectable numbers now.

Wonderful win.

Scoring first is awesome!

First multi-run homer (Panda's two-run shot) since June 14

Timmy was terrific.

Still only 1-9 with RISP, and 3 GiDP.

Cards are reeling, better take advantage.

Dogs losing in the 9th, 10-3

Back to 1st place. :D

Giants fly on the 1st of July ....Win 5-0 over STL

June is over as the Giants had their wings clipped for about three weeks as their lead evaporated in the West. The good news is July is here and with that there is new hope and it seems like their wings are growing back. Their main wing man Angel Pagan is still out and is down in L.A. talking to a back specialist but the Giants found a way to fly again tonight behind Player of the week Tim Lincecum.

Lincecum in his first start since the No-Hitter vs. San Diego put up another huge game. I saw smiles again from the hometown 25 as the team played one of their best games of the year. Lincecum was dealing but then it happened . Bases loaded and no outs tied 0-0 in the 4th. This would be the turning point of the whole night and maybe just maybe the last three weeks. Sure Tim threw a No-No but the Giants lost 4 straight after it. Tonight Lincecum found wings and struck out Craig and then Jay. He then got local kid Daniel Descalso to ground out to Hiicks at 2nd base to end the bases loaded threat.

A huge sigh of relief seemed to run through the park as the Giants scored three runs in the bottom of the 4th. Pence with a single and then a Posey double lit up the crowd. Then the Panda stepped up and launched a high fly ball that seemed to drift and drift until it came down just over the left field fence for a 359 ft. HR. It was Sandoval's 100th lifetime HR and boy he could'nt of picked a better time to hit it. The Giants added two more runs in the 5th on a Pence double and a Sanchez ground out to provide that 5-0 sweet cushion for Lincecum to do his thing.

Another great performance by Tim Lincecum tonight and his defense really played well behind him. Sandoval,Pence, and Crawford really shined out there in the field. Sanchez called another beauty behind the plate . Lincecum's line on the night...8 IP 0 R 0 ER 2 BB 6 SO on exactly the same amount of pitches he threw in the No-Hitter...113. Lincecum now has thrown 17 consecutive scoreless innings in a row.

I also broke my 4 game losing streak at the yard and after the train ride from hell last Friday night ,tonight it felt like the train had wings as it was my fastest and most peaceful ride of the year. It really felt great to see the team win again at home and jump back over L.A. into first place.

It's Vogelsong vs. Wainwright tomorrow which should be a great match up between these two clubs.

Go Giants !!

In 2 games his era more than quadrupled.

Yeah, but he wasn't going to end the season with an 0.29 ERA. He was going to regress to the mean at some point. He has still been brilliant overall.

BTW...

LA Schadenfreude

The Indians got out of a bases-loaded, no out situation and gave up NO runs. Thank you cleveland!

Check out how they get out of a 1st and 3rd, no-out situation in the fourth:

Must C: Classic | MLB.com

I think the Dodgers just set a record here by losing two challenges in one play.

Both calls were SUPER close. Not sure the play at 2B was clear enough to overturn, and the play at te plate probably would have stood against whatever was called on he field.
